Just looked on Trainline website.

From my local station to London an annual season ticket is ?5564 or ?24.72 per journey based on 225 journeys ( 5 days a week for 45 weeks).

A standard class peak return is now ?81 or ?18225 for 225 journeys .

An off-peak return (first available train arrives London 10:30 but no return restrictions - yet!) is ?30.00 or ?6750 for 225 journeys.

The fare structure needs sorting out.
The season ticket represents a discount of almost 70%.
Even if the peak return was more reasonable at around ?50 the season ticket would represent a 50% discount.
What other service or product is available in bulk at such high discounts at the time of greatest demand?

This country really is finished. Just too many people and those at the top just cream off all the money. We'll never have a country that runs like the rest of Europe when it comes to transport. We need a war to kill off about 20M people, then start again with a new government and a new direction - because this is as good as it gets,

But remember we are a very wealthy country and many companies pay these stupid fares for their staff.
