Anyone who can 'get wood' watching this kind of shit is one sad, sick fuck.
Max Hardcore is to my mind a dangerous individual whose 'brand' of porn can only possibly appeal to those with serious psychological issues.
Believe me, I ain't no Mary Whitehouse, but when I had the misfortune of viewing some of his vile performances on DVD last year, I almost cried out of pity for the poor girls who featured - they had every last bit of dignity stripped away from their very being. I can't begin to imagine how fucked up they must be to agree to be filmed performing such degrading acts.
And don't tell me they get well paid for it....a/ I don't believe you and b/ money's not even an issue here. To agree to do some of that stuff is to agree to be dehumanised by that loathsome monster. Some of those girls need to be saved because NO ONE can tell me that they enjoy what they're told to do in front of that cunt's camera.
Damn right I hope he gets filled in good and proper in the nick. The cunt.

Whoa there Algarve! I can see Max has really rattled you and I can bet he gets a thrill from this sort of response. The guy lives for it or he wouldnt be doing it.
With the exception of a few I always like to bring up Rebekah Jordan who has always defended the guy because she thought he was a nice person who tells girls that his on camera personae is an asshole and some girls may actually see it as fun compared to the run of the mill in and out stuff of porn.
Some girls just like to experience something depraved but it may just be an excuse to experience it rather than live it.
I'm sure some girls need saving but not from Max, probably from themselves. I hear Max is also a manic depressive so maybe that has somethign to do with colourful take on adult erotica too

Quick question - is the issue how the girls involved in his films feel / are treated or how it "portrays women"?
Even if the women are well paid and are just actresses playing a role, it is slightly concerning that this sort of stuff (yes I have watched a couple of his films) seems to have a decent sized audience and whilst I am not sure it changes people's likes / dislikes etc I worry it may reinforce the fantasies of some.
On balance I don't like censorship so am not sure that you should legislate against this, (albeit let's be frank, dressing the argument up as "freedom of speech" does a disservice to that phrase) but I do find it more than a little disconcerting....

Or is it merely capitalism at its finest?

You say" but when I had the misfortune of viewing some of his vile performances on DVD last year," which just proves you are a hypocrite and a liar because why did you watch it?

jesus christ when did making hardcore porn become that much of a crime??
We`re supposed to be opening the boundarys of perception however much we agree or disagree with them not ridiculing those who do so.
Ive seen MHs videos and dont have much time for them.
I still fail to see what harm is being caused or how anyone can feel that outraged about what he does???
maybe im just becoming too liberal in my old age

I had a similar dream in which Max finds himself in an institution for the criminally insane , where the inmates are all young teens in knee high socks, mini-kilts and pig-tails, however much to Max's dismay, they are all wearing Hannibal Lecter masks and wielding chain-saws! He is then pursued, through endless corridors until being cornered by the baying mob of teens, where upon, he is brutally hacked and sawed to death in a shower of gore.
I'm sure the guy was Max, although in my dream he wasn't wearing a cowboy hat, so it could have been ME! !oops!

I had a dream that Hardcore meets an unfortunate end whereupon he meets with God for the obvious reason. God says 'Max, i've been kinda tied-up with one thing and another. What was it you were doing down there?' Hardcore replies 'I was a kind of guerilla film-maker. Very avant garde'. God says 'What kind of stuff were you doing?' Hardcore says 'The theme was 'Violence is great when you're the perpetrator'. Quite challenging stuff'. God says 'Interesting .. tell me more'. Hardcore says 'Well, I got a woman and just abused her over and over again. Physicals, verbals you know'. God says ' And this installation would play in a gallery, on a loop?' Hardcore, slightly embarassed says 'Erm, no. It wasn't on a loop. It was a different woman each time'.
God looks slightly sceptical and raises an eyebrow. He says 'Okay, I know these things sometimes aren't what they appear. You lived in the States right. How many times did you show at MOMA or the Metropolitan?' Hardcore says 'Erm, never. It wasn't like that'. God says 'But you said you were an artist?' Hardcore, somewhat uneasily, says 'Well, erm yeah'. God says 'Well what did your art achieve .. was it a great spiritual consolation to victims and the oppressed?' Hardcore, without thinking, says 'I don't know about that but I used to get a lot of emails from hillbillys who said that much of the time they felt small but that my films made them feel big, more powerful, more important'. God says 'So they were pro-violence in their way, with the proviso that it's meted out on the weak?' Hardcore, blushing, says 'Ain't that the thing about art'. Thinking quickly he says 'You're never in control of how it will be received and by whom'. God says ' But you didn't stop making it or propose a different scenario?' Hardcore says 'No, it was popular, I got used to the money, and the notoriety was intoxicating even if the people who supported me were sick. People used to think I was sick too but i'm actually quite a nice guy'.
God says 'So you were merely 'notorious'. It seems to me that rather than 'pushing the envelope' your art - if you want to call it that - was regressive and medieval. It seems to me you were doing little more than supplying a market with a dubious product'. Hardcore says 'I know what you're saying, but if you see it for what it is you make it difficult for people to ignore their motives for buying it. So I said it was art, you know like ironic. A fantasy'.
God says 'I'm unconvinced. What were you most fearful of down there?' Hardcore says 'To tell you the truth I was fearful of intimacy and love. It scared the living daylights out me'. God says 'There's no way were having you up here. You're a toxic character. Your eternal punishment is the thing you're most frightened of ... love!' Take him away.
