I'd agree with eveything ATS stated above and as well as having a good kicking game are outside backs most be able to convert good field posistion into points and then were in with a chance. I just fear for are outside backs against the Kiwi's and especially the Aussie's with the freaks they will have out wide.

Very true. England can match the other sides up front but
I have my doubts about Senior & Gleeson in the centres

Also Pryce cannot afford to go missing as he did in the grand final

Unfortunately I still feel we are lacking in true depth in crucial positions

I'm afraid that international Rugby League is a farce. Australia are so far ahead of everyone else even their 3rd team could beat most other international sides.

Why split up GB into the 4 home nations (I know Wales aren't there), but surely this greatly diminishes any chance of the Cup coming to GB?

How many Australians will turn out to watch the matches. Yes, obviously, a number will attend to watch their team, but the other fixtures will more than likely be played in half empty stadiums.

Remember the last RL World Cup made a huge loss and this was especially galling after it was promised that it would make a profit.

So far this tournament isn't receiving much coverage in the British media and only slightly more in Australia.

You are correct to a degree about becoming England rather than GB
But there are very few representing the other home nations that
would get into a GB side
Brough would have been a decent cover at scrum half but can't think
of many more that would force their way into what is the England squad
I doubt Cunningham would have toured - so most of the 24 picked by
Tony Smith would still be out there now

Diskin, Fox, Gilmour and Fielden maybe unlucky to have missed out
on selection but apart from those I believe most of these players
in Australia would figure in majorityof RL fans selections

More of a union fan myself but the Aussies just looked like a class apart.Everytime England got the ball they either dropped it or the ball bounced on the ground in space upon which the Aussies invariably pounced on.Every time the Aussies got the ball they made it count

The only hope for all the other nations in this tournament is that the Aussies "emulate" the All Blacks in the last Union RWC and screw up against all the odds (France quarter final)that tournamnet was theirs for the asking and they just got a little too arrogant. However I don't think the Aussies will do that.As a very occasionally League watcher I can only say that the Aussies didn't seem to be playing the arrogant game a la the All Blacks.
