The doubt about Mancini is the absence of a Champions League pedigree. If Inter repace Mancini their Champions League failure will be the principal reason, similarly Schuster has one more season at Real in which he has to win the Champions League. Aren't those the stakes ? In this respect does it point to Frank Rjiikaard or someone like Scolari ?

Mourinho DOES NOT get them into a Champions league final and is a hero.

Grant DOES get them into a Champions league final and is sacked.

Strange.

Also, since Grant took over at Chelsea they have lost LESS Premier league matches than Feruson did at Man U during the same period.

Grant inherited a top notch outfit that Jose Mourinho built. ANYBODY who took over at Chelsea after Jose's departure would have been blessed that the squad was up-and-running.

Its not a case of Inter replacing Mancini by choice, he announced 2 months ago he wouldn't be signing a new contract

Lets face it the only player in that team that was signed by Grant was Anelka, it was Mourinho's team. Anyway the sceptic in me thinks that Grant was always only temporary. The contract they gave him means nothing when you have a billionaire owner, all it meant was that he could pay his friend compensation when he left. Surely not a coincidence that Mancini announced he would be leaving Inter 2 months ago. Seems to me the deal was done then, I will be amazed if Mancini isn't the new manager.

It seems any cunt doing well at the time is touted for the job. I recall Michael Laudrup being mentioned a few weeks ago as he'd had a decent run in a two-bob Spanish league.
Rijkaard was hotly tipped till he failed these past few weeks, and Guus Hiddinck has been touted.
Seems like they want instant sucess again, they won't get it if they chop and change, it needs developing.
They should swallow their pride and call Jose to 'name his price'.........that would sort out the futures of certain players looking to leave.

Jose will never go back there unless Abramovich leaves and if that happens all the stars will go as they won't be able to afford the ?135,000 a week wages! Face it Mourinho's gone, its over! He will be at Inter soon anyway, as will Drogba!!

Caractacus can I just say that you have REALLY went down in my estimation trying to the play the RACE CARD with the sacking of Avram Grant .... I really think you should take stock of the fact that foreign owners investing multi millions in any chosen sphere 2nd just isn't good enough, instant results/rewards is what these guys look for and to basically hint the anti semetic brigade have drove him out sees you sinking to far greater depths than I could imagine (sorry if I feel that way) ... I think you should really have a think about that one my friend ...
Poor show by Chelsea maybe but it does show that 2nd is not good enough or acceptable no matter what the stakes are but let's face it Avram Grant will probably depart Chelsea with a couple of million in his pocket and his profile greatly ENHANCED ... with that amount of money washing around football unfortunately chairmen/owners are going to be forced into these knee jerk reactions to preserve their ever increasing worldwide brand.
