With all their faults I would rather ITV kept F1 than have that wanker Hammond presenting the show, where did he come from/what has he done (apart from nearly killing himself in a stupid stunt) to be pushed to the fore?

I think Hammond will make an excellent presenter - not that I'll be watching as I hate F1.

Yes, there's nothing I like better than sitting for hours on end watching the dynamic Peter Ebdon lining up a shot.

Doesn't matter what I think, to be honest; enough people like F1, snooker, darts, boxing for them to continue forever. Worst of the lot, for my money, is basketball. Only the Yanks could invent a sport where scoring happens every five seconds so the crowd don't lose interest. "As you join us, the Milwaukee Mucus are just edging this close match against the Dakota Drones by 160 points to 158, with two minutes played."

ITV's F1 coverage has been totally wank.

Particularly in the early days of Button when Jim Rosenthal would virtually be interviewing the useless git while holding his own cock. "Never mind Schumacher, let's spend the next half-hour talking about Jensen . . . ." Cue thrwapping noises.

ITV still have coverage of the Boat Race, so we're bound to see Rider's fizogg fronting that.

I actually think that ITV do a pretty good job with F1 coverage, they dedicate quite a bit of time to the qualifying sessions, and the build up to the race itself cannot see the Beeb being allowed to do that as it will keep Eastenders off the air for a couple of hours. The only thing that killed ITV's coverage was the adverts which in a fast moving sport like F1 could mean those few minutes lost could see the whole complexion of the previous 2 hours completely changed.
I think that the Beeb think they have a winning forumula with the "Old School" Top Gear which can now be seen on "Ski Sunday" just hope this doesn't manifest itself into the cutting edge sport that is F1 ...

lots of good valid points and comments here.
Im not a great F1 fan and havent been since "our nigel" won in was it 92?

I would sooner watch world super bikes, british super bikes, ama, moto gp,v8 supercars, nascar and indy car.

I cant see bbc devoting time to qualifying(sorry about spelling)
unless they stick it on bbc 3 or 4
I think youll just see the race, like they do with moto gp.

I hope they dont use the same people that itv use and use some new people, people that know what they are on about, unlike that woman on the itv coverage(cant remember her name) what does she know about F1?
can anybody tell me? does she know more than I think she does ?
or is she married to sombody who does ?
nothing against women presenters in sport but she is annoying
