As for publications, may be a bit pricey outwith the Sport, but there's Bizarre magazine which is getting pretty mainstream and Viz. Private Eye may even accomodate you at a push, if you keep it 'classy'.

There's always the 'yellow' paper like Loot, Exchange and Mart etc.
