I haven't listened to R1 for about 27 years!! I did read a while ago the BBC were considering selling it off to a commerical broadcaster.

I listen to R4, R3, sometimes R2 and occasionally Classic FM.

Good point Zevon but when I used to be a Radio 1 fan they mixed new stuff with classic, and had the likes of John Peel and Annie Nightingale to go off at a tangent. Now it is a playlist with DJs having no power at all.

I admit to classic FM when stuck in traffic, it has a calming effect.

I thought their target audience was 13-18?

That seems to be the case with most radio stations these days. At work my Dad makes me listen to "Smooth Radio" Which is meant to be an over 50s station. Yet it is taken up with shite like that which is played on every other station.

FUCK that, no it fucking aint, Radio 2 is just a christian version of radio 1.

I used to listen to radio 1, but I switched to Local Radio when they started playing CRAP all the time. I sometimes put Radio 2 on, FFS, utter SHITE. Most of the time, they play ancient 20's, 30's, 40's etc, right upto the eighties, rarely do they play anthing of interest.

1 thing that really pisses me off with all the RADIO 1-5, commercial, local radio stations, you have some obnoxious/childish/irritating bunch of cunts telling stories (5 yr old's would complain the stories are too babyish) & cackling like a bunch of headless chicken, & don't even get me started on about evening/nights.

WHO THE FUCK wants to listen to Competition Line all fucking night, they used to play that shit just on a thursday & sunday night, now the fucks play that sunday through thursday night, every fucking week. I got pissed off with my local radio station playing that crap, so I managed to find another radio station, FFS, 2 weeks later, they joined in 5 nights/week of competition line.

Can't get many radio stations here, the reception is shit. Whenever I can manage to get Radio 1, it's Rock (seriously heavy/deep), Heavy Metal, Thrash type music all fucking night, I don't want to listen to that shit while I'm trying to relax before falling asleep.

For the last 6 months, I've had to play my CD's at night, to get away from the obnoxious/annoying cunts at night, bring back the decent radio shows/DJs. I'm now running out of diff CD's to play, after playing the same music over & over every night for weeks, it's starting to get boring.
