Sounds like a good day; I'm glad all went well.

Eh? Where's this from? Why haven't I seen this?

And you're a big-nosed excrescence in the armpit of a pubic louse on a
Jarrow slapper's minge-hair.

Ah; you misspelt Elle's name and I assumed you meant, um, the sort of
actress who wouldn't clamp her gob round the Doc's Sonic Screwdriver
at every available opportunity.
I've seen it, and by God yes, it has the TV series beat hollow.
I have a doctor's note excusing me from saving universes. I haven't been
well, you know.

Elkie Brooks did porn?
I haven't seen this travesty of a much-loved sci-fi standard. But no matter how badly written, it can't be any worse than the last 45 minutes of the last series.
Human Nature/Family Of Blood and Blink were superb. Steven Moffat to replace Russell T. Dafydd.

Now don't obfuscate things even further- some of us are legally feeble-
minded, remember.

The writing was a bit patchy in places but I got some enjoyment out of
each ep.- and during the dull bits I could just gaze wistfully at Freema
Agyeman more interesting bits. I appreciated the linearity as well, and the
tie-ins like Harkness/Face of Boe.
Have you seen Torchwood, and if so whadidya think?

Yeah, the Face of Boe revelation was unexpected. And Freema is undeniably lovely.
Torchwood was very bitty---didn't help by killing off the best actress, resurrecting her and killing her off again. The P. J. Hammond episode was excellent, and the one about the plane from the 1950s. But I got the impression they didn't really know what to do with it.

Yeah... bitty, and very inconsistent.
I didn't appreciate all the unnecessary shagging either. Presumably that's
all BBC execs can think of when it comes to 'adult' themes. With the
original there are certain boundaries imposed by the Who 'tradition' that
focus the direction taken whereas with T the complete freedom plotwise
meant that the writers could go anywhere in terms of narrative- often r
ight up their own jacksies.
I couldn't decide whether I fancied the faithless gap-toothed Welsh tart or
the cute Asian half-lesbo neurotic. In the end I decided it would be better
just to go gay, and do Cap'n Jack. Less high-maintenance [img]
