Speaking as someone with a musical ear, I've always considered Gil S.H. to be considerably less than genius...more yer 1980's leftie festival filler act in fact !whistle!

I met GSH whilst filming at the Jazz Cafe some years back, and it was obvious he had some work to do on his drug problem. Even so he was mesmeric on stage. Pity that most people only know him for the non-televisation of the revolution.
