Hey PC!!
Gotta admit im more than a little jealous that you have seen it, especially doing the steep climb. The thing that strikes me as I watch the clip is....well just how wrong it looks. Some thing that looks like that should not be able to do thoes things!! Just testament to what a wonderfull aircraft it really is.
Here is hoping this one is back in the air soon
Cheers

Just when I was working on Islanders, C172 and Bell 206B's etc.... not quite as exciting..... But at least they didn't smell..... Lol.
Mind you one Bell 206 Jetranger did have a bullethole in it..... it had been imported from the USA and apparently belonged to Frank Sinatra.

Not really exciting.....just long shifts of hard work & a bugger to maintain even back then. An impressive beast of a machine tho. One of my old muckers is currently working on the 558 project.

Absolutley. I was lucky enough to see a Vulcan twice, and it was amazing. The power seemed to pass through your entire body as it took off, it was just incredible. That something as impressive as that could have been designed in the 1950's is hard to credit. We really had some engineers back then.

Don't have any more info than is on their website. I do know that ? to complete the job is still a major issue. Personally I doubt June memorial filght will happen but you never know. I think time is very much against them. Completing a Vulcan major was never an easy task even at St Athan. So with such a small team & burgeoning costs it's not going to be easy.

A fetid, musty, rubbery, stale sweat & stale piss sort of smell, not easy to forget!
