Thats a damned good question Alice but before I answer that what made you think the girl was getting arrested for throwing a tantrum? She only seemed in distress once the handcuffs went on.

The footage looks like it was shot from a mobile phone so I dont know how Warren got that info. Maybe it reflects his own personal bias that because the girl is black she must therefore have done something to warrant police intervention perhaps?

Things that seem obvious are not always so. Dont assume you know the answer.

I would have expected a sensible answer in the region of this being standard practice since there is so much unpredictable violence.

And for your info Warren I dont need to deal with it if I dont know what the reason was for in the first place.

You just took it upon yourself to accept this betraying your probable contempt for kids.

In answer to Alice...what I would do is admonish that child with 'the look'. You know that look that every human being knows that if you fuck withme there will be unpredictable consequesnces. Trust me there is something innate in kids where they know 'the look'

I was around a mate once whose kid was acting up (as kids sometimes tend to). he gave....'the look' and his kid knew and behaved himself.

All to often I see kids running rings around their parents who havent mastered the psychology of administering 'the look'

Everyone knows it when they see it. Its like when you stand rigid and stare intently without blinking. Like a dog poised to attack but without the growl.

Also I might come off worse than the cops handcuffing the child by saying this but if kids act up they deserve a stinging slap to the arse region to remind them if you are going to act like an arse hole, always remember there is a bigger arse hole around the corner...I'm a take his place till he gets here so learn the lesson now.

Its a sad fact but violence as a last resort is the primal language that everyone understands as long as you explain why it was administered.

The only reason i see it being outlawed is simply because some people were just dishing it out willy nilly and that has long term psychological repercussions on an individual.

The only person who should deliver that is the parent and to a lesser extent, the guardian...But teachers and people in a similar profession are a no no.

I can buy the child being put in handcuffs as the best choice of restraint, but seriously Warren, you must have seen something I didnt see in that...Who asked you to fill in the blanks and be judge, jury and executioner?

I didnt see any smoking gun or a bloody knife in that girls hand. Did she steal a crayon? i don't know. I just saw a little girl on a stool being thrust into handcuffs screaming.

After watching that video I was expecting to write a full apology to Warren but ...COME ON! Are you telling me that the only violence that little girl committed was smashing an apple on the floor!? That constitutes violence against an adult now!?

That child was being difficult. Not once did i see that child even throwing a tantrum!

Those two ladies were patronising that little girl the whole time they were videoing that scene. I wonder what they would have done if there was no camera available?

I'm with the attorney that the arrest was "absurd" and "excessive"

Its no wonder with people making decisions like this and putting a strain on resources like this that kids end up growing up to thinking they can get what they want when they want.

I bet if there was someone with a bit of balls in there that little girl might have behaved herself out of respect or fear (either works fine).

Then again I might just piss you all off and call the race card. I wonder if it was a white kid would the outcome have been the same? The way i see some white kids talk to their mothers is disgusting...But you never here anybody call cops on their kids though do you?

Let me put it another way. I have a social worker friend who deals with kids and teenagesrs in difficult situations. Not once has he everhad to engage in physical violence because the way he comes across he commands respect.

It seems not many people possess these qualities in the professions that call for it.

If I remember rightly this was the short sharp shock treatment, the video and stories over a year old so I can`t remember all the details. But if you think thats bad my mate in Florida stopped his autistic son going to school as they put restraints on him on the bus.
