Theroux' thesis? Hmmm, I don't think I'm familiar but nothing a quick google can't fix if I can't sleep tonight!

Yeah but remeber, just because they (blacks) are educated don't mean they're politically savvy in blackness or in other words, if they don't know african history ( and believe me a LOT of young blacks don't) they wouldn't know what's going on on the continent. That goes for these rich blacks too. The reason why black sports players and actors and some music artist don't take a stand is because of their fan base which some are white and the have more to lose careerwise if they take a stand on black issues which the white fans or management of corporate intities don't like. That's why you don't hear from a lot of these people. Only a selected few stand up. Oprah Winfrey is doing some work over there. Comedien Chris Tucker is doing some work there too. Believe it or not there is some talk about getting dual citizenship for blacks now but you won't hear a lot about it.

The BBC World Service is running a week of programmes about Africa. They paint a much more varied picture. What is your source of information?

You're wrong - we don't bale Africa out. They baled us out. After WW2, we stole billions (in today's money) from our colonies in Africa to fund our reconstruction. So did France, Portugal, Belgium. We, the world's biggest thieves fucked up the continent before they had the chance to declare independence. Now Africans are slowly turning the situation around - which is hard when you're starting from such a low base. Amid the sad stories there are growing economic successes, especially in South Africa, Ghana and Nigeria.

Not true. After the Romans left, Britain became a backwater for another thousand years. And Africa has only been running itself for 40-50.

Nope. The most destructive nations on earth have been European plus Japan and America. Forgetting Japan (which was more interested in shafting other Asian countries), name a single non-white leader.
It wasn't multicultural Britain that robbed the Empire. It was white Britain. Multiculturalism is a result of the Empire.

It's expensive to fly there for economic reasons - lack of volume. However, from London, which now has wealthy and successful African communities, you can get reasonably priced flights to places like Nigeria, Ghana and Gambia.

Only because the african nations couldnt do anything like build a wheel or get off the primitive rungof the civilisation ladder. Bloody hell think of what passed for normal life pre-colonial empire, enslaving your enemys (and then selling them to the whites when we came) mass rape.
Oh yeah i forget pol pot, edi armen (cant spell the names apologies)
Its very tiremsome and patronising to think of the black nations of clueless victims of the the evil white man.
