Seem to remember a very young and unheard of Ewan McGregor starting off in "Lipstick on Your Collar" along with the equally unknown Douglas Henshall.
This series was totally surreal and superb to watch especially when you knew some female flesh was just around the corner (even enjoyed the singing!grin!) ... but Roy Hudd as the old perv stole the show for me, should have got an oscar for that performance.
Never seen it repeated by Channel 4 - wonder why as I think it would do pretty well.

How often do they repeat any Potter stuff? There was a really disturbing Play For Today he did in the late 70s or early 80s, with Alan Dobie and Kika Markham, set in a hotel room with a writer seeking the perfect actress for his next work. Saw it once, when it was on, and never since. Pennies From Heaven was only shown again about 15, maybe 20 years after it first popped up.

It's kind of too honest and in your face. Shines light into the dark areas of Potter's (and our) psyche, and leaves you feeling disturbed.

Well, that's my view, anyway.

i'm a big fan generally, but what was the name of that dismal play he did with a bunch of adults dressed as kids running around the countryside - i seem to remember Colin Welland was in it?

Blue Remembered Hills. One of my favourites from Potter that, but then I also quite liked the Hollywood version of Pennies From Heaven with Steve Martin (a cert for the curious, if no-one else). Maybe my Potter aerial needs adjusting.
