I've said it once, I've said it thrice.....

Religion isn't to blame, it's the people who use religion for their own selfish agendas, that are the problem.

Of course, religion was invented by people who wished to use it for their own selfish agenda.

It is, without a doubt, the most effective protection racket ever devised.

Got to agree there! I just wish some people can realize it is religion instead of one particular faith. I do live in the states and where I come from there is a church "on every corner." Meanwhile there is still homlessness, poverty, drugs, ho-ing, and gangbanging and people got the nerve to bash the Muslims. I've got respect for anybody who's true and doing good in their faith and nobody likes a fanatic. But if you think the muslims are nuts, take a look around, secular people ain't shortstoppin' either!

ALL religion needs to be BANNED and the making of weapons. Shit, then I wake up and it's not real.

This was nothing like a "minor indiscretion". This pope, like so many before him, is a cunt. Hope I haven't offended any catholics.

"I used to have Moslem friends but my direct experience of them over quite a number of years in some cases forced me to give up knowing them. I got fed up of their contempt and exploitative ways,"

This sounds interesting, Keith. If there are negative aspects to Muslim culture and religion, if it is at odds with our liberal western values of freedom and democracy, we need to get it out into the open where we can examine and discuss it. Only then, in the light of our deliberations, will we be able to formulate a way of dealing with it. The world is getting smaller by the day, ignoring these issues, looking the other way or sweeping them under the carpet is not going to be an option for much longer. Please expand on your negative experience of Islam.
