I didnt watch the programme but its dumb to suggest gonzo as a genrte to blame and not the people themselves who instigated it.
Its like guns dont kill people, people use guns to kill. Take away the person behind it and its just a useless piece of metal that looks good in a display cupboard over someones mantle-piece.
To add the corny cliche: people should take responsibility for their actions.

Thank-you All!
Some very informative points there!!!
I just hate to see such one sided film-making especially in a documentary format that is supposed to inform, not judge... and not from a channel that once was a breakthrough for our industry...
But hey weren't they the ones that just showed that Ted Bundy thing as well... talk about leading the interviewee... and that's another story altogether...
I just hope the Christian Right find sense... however highly unluckly!! As we know, we follow America's lead in so many ways.....
.. let's hope our people can keep doing the honerable thing and doing it as well as we can... You never know, we could end up supplying them with our product... wouldn't that be a switch around......... NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN I KNOW!!!

I should also point out the panic that ensued over on the main forum when the news broke, and I am quite sure a few British performers retired that week.
Ive said it before and ill say it again that this forum should have links to sites on sexual/mental health and the risks involved in the various types of performance, last time I pointed this out I was told by the mods that they are getting round to it, this was years ago, so as the forum is funded by porn makers/sellers I guess its the money in control and the last thing they want is to put off new would be performers, and ethically minded punters.

3 Factors contributed to the last HIV outbreak:
1) Shooting bareback in Brazil
2) Circus act Double Anals lead to tearing in the walls of the anus/rectum
3) Internal anal cumshots greatly up the risk of HIV transmission.
Evil Angel, probably the most prominent gonzo company, has a strict policy of no 'anal creampies', i.e. internal anal cumshots, for this very reason. EA owner John 'Buttman' Stagliano himself contracted HIV by receiving a load up the arse from a Brazilian tranny. It ain't pretty, but that's the fact of the matter, and he's been big enough to own up to his own mistakes and take steps to make sure no-one else finds themselves in the same position. He's put principles before profits, as I'm sure there are plenty of EA directors who would love to shoot anal creampies, and it would be extremely profitable for them to do it as well. But the fact remains...if you're shooting for EA, you're not shooting any anal creampies.
If you look at the case of US performer Kayla Marie, who was one of the primary quarantined performers, she 'dodged the bullet' because she didn't take an internal anal cumshot, despite working with Darren James during his window of exposure (and I believe in between scenes where he infected other girls).
Take a look at the scenes in which Darren James contracted and then passed on the HIV. All anal, some double anal, and internal anal cumshots aplenty too.
I think the finger got pointed at gonzo (quite wrongly, I might add) in this documentary because current day gonzo seems to be on a never-ending quest to get ever more 'extreme'...double anals, cumfart cocktails, ass to mouth (or other girl's mouth) and so on. Feature porn tends to try to push boundaries on the production side of things, like Space Nuts or Pirates. Jenna Jameson won't be taking a double anal or letting some chick fart cum into her mouth any time soon...I'd say that's a pretty fair assumption for the rest of the contract girls at Vivid, Wicked, and Digital Playground too.
Mandatory condom use would achieve very little, I feel...if a double anal is going to tear the anus, then it's more than likely going to tear latex as well. Also, as I believe ********** pointed out on these forums a while back, a condom becomes useless if you're going to shoot your load in the girl's face afterwards...HIV can apparently be transmitted via the optic membrane, so if the girl gets it in the eye, it could do a lot more than just sting a bit.
The real solution is regular testing and common sense...going to Brazil and shooting bareback double anal with or without interna anall cumshots certainly does not qualify as the latter.

Speaking as a viewer of porn I prefer to see the performers without condoms. But....make condoms compulsary in porn and you will encourage the production of underground no-condom films which can only be bad.
