Well Bob, I don't want the Germans to win, and if you have a problem with that I don't give a toss.

I think the final will be France v Germany... and to be perfectly honest, I don't relish the thought of EITHER team winning it!!! I can't fathom the lesser of the two evils!
I have been saying since the culmination of the group stage that I thought Germany were going to win - at that time France were heading home... however, over the last 3 matches France have got their act together and I now put them slightly better favourites to win. I beleive they create more chances, have more strength in depth and in Zidane and henry they have 2 players who can turn a match in an instant.

Sour grapes. The Germans have been playing as a team, praise where it's due. Zidane and Thierry are on form, a French and German final would be great.

Agree. Ferdinand, Terry, A.Cole and Hargreaves played well enough to be on the winning side of a world cup final team - whoever that may be. Harsh that they were let down by the lack of people in front of them. Proves how good we are defensively though....
As for "english arrogance".....that annoys me. People are hopeful in England because this is the country that spawned the sport - its out no1 national sport and we have one of the major football leagues in the world. It's just common sense that football does literally need to "come home" sometimes............

Sour grapes? Nah... England didn't deserve to progress through the group stage - no arguments. They got exactly what they deserved. But sour grapes? no... shallow, bitter, stereotyped opinion - yes, I would probably go along with that - but sour grapes, absolutely not. My stereotyped opinion of the French and the Germans is wholly negative - my past encounters (admittedly none int he last 10 years or so) did nothing to counter the sterotyped view, hence it remains. If I had been asked to name all of the countries before the contest - and I mean ALL - that I wouldn't like to have seen win it - Argentina, France and Germany would have been my reply... Had I thought for a moment that the USA had even a sprinkling of a chance then I'd have been struggling to pick 3 from 4!

No 'Ten German Bombers' crap here, please!
The Germans have played some magnificent football and deserve to win the Cup. I'll be happy for them or the French to win.
Actually, I wanted them to make the Final with us. Where we could have beaten them 4-2. Without the need for extra time.
