ronaldo's a little antagonistic cunt! he wants his legs breaking. look at the gesture he made to rooney before the game and look at the wink after rooney was sent off. that's his team-mate for fuck's sake! i think the ref sent rooney off for the push to be honest, which is bang out of order. it's not a red card offence! if i was rooney, i'd knock the fucker out when i next saw him on the man u training ground at carrington.

Looking at the replays, it looks like Rooney got the red for pushing Ronaldo away when he and 3/4 other Portugese were all over the ref demanding a card.

If so, total over-reaction from the ref... and didn't FIFA say that players demanding a yellow/red card for another player would get a yellow themselves?

HOWEVER...

... the way we've played all tournament it would have been a travesty if we'd gone all the way to final and won.

We have been bereft of ideas both on and off the pitch. Ironically, it wasn't until Beckham went off that we started to look as if we were a team.

Corners (taken either by Gerrard or Lampard) were actually getting into the box at head height unlike Beckham's feeble attempts that never seemed to get more than a foot off the ground and were invariably directed straight at an opponent. Same with free kicks... we looked far more dangerous when players other than beckham were taking them.

Gary Neville was also urging those around him on... I've said for years and years that Beckham should never have been given the captaincy... he has no leadership qualities whatsoever.

Lampard has been a shadow of himself all tournament, and sadly Joe Cole seems to have gone back to his show-boating... lots of step-overs, but no discernable end product on the rare ocassions he got the ball (and I'm a Chelsea fan so you'd think I'd be biased in his favour!)

What exactly was the point of bringing Walcott? With Owen crocked, Rooney suspended and Crouch hardly Sven's first choice, questions will continue to be asked regarding leaving Defoe, Bent and others behind.

Positives to be drawn from the tournament...

Aaron Lennon
Owen Hargreaves
NO MORE SVEN!!!!!

Negatives...

Sven's incomprehensible selection policy
Sven's lack of tactical nous
Lampard's below par performances
Beckham
The next England manager is just as inept and equally lacking in tactical ability

Rooney should phone Fergie tonight. "One of us is leaving.......make your choice"

That should sort out the little gay dancing boy. I hope the cheating twat gets a 'welcome' at every ground next season.

I think, given he's being linked with a move to Real Madrid, that he believes the hype put out by Juan Miguel Villar Mir and doesn't expect to be playing in England next season!

I was actually having a piss when Rooney got sent off so didn't see it happen and despite what the pundits say don't think it was intentional.

I could be wrong because I switched off after Carragher so the only slow mo I saw was the one during the game, but it looked to me as though he could only put his foot were it went.

If he did it then he deserves the same stick as Beckham after his sending off against the Argies.

For me though the biggest problem was that they were crap before his sending off and that can only be blamed on the tactical genius of Sven and the piss poor performance of the 'Stars'.

The best English player was Hargreaves but he is a defensive midfielder and I have to ask why they played so defensively against a team whose best attack minded player Deco was suspended.

When Owen did his knee I thought were out but when Deco was suspended I thought that puts us back in with a shout but when England's tactics and team were announced I couldn't believe it.

Hargreaves was without doubt the best player on the pitch but if England had decided to attack and play Carrick (who had a good game against Ecuador) I think they would have done better.

I also think that if Joe Cole had decided to play the football he can instead of doing the showboat tricks things would have been a lot more praductive unfortunately his wonder goal in a previous match made his head as big as it was a few years ago, something the coaches should have spotted and didn't.

Hopefully lessons will be learned like Gerrard and Lampard can't play in the same team, Beckham can be more of a liability than a gift, you don't take 4 strikers to the world cup & you only take players that can actually get in the team.

I think McClaren is still the right choice but the biggest lesson has to be that if his team performs like Sven's then the FA doesn't allow him time to continue failing.

Anyone want to buy a car flag?

I wrote a fairly long honest view of the whole thing last night but the fucking forum didnt accept any posts i sent....and I couldnt do the "hotmail" style thing of clicking back and saving what id typed.....not happy mods! - cant something be done about it?

I might retype everything i said later on....but no.1 point has to be.....thank you owen hargreaves for quietening the critics. I was supporting him as the underdog and ive genuinely never seen anyone more hungry to win or score than him. He was outstanding and I hope he plays a good role from now on.
