Dont much care either way, but i read something in a red top paper about brittish TV that basically said Brit TV has lost its Knackers, its totally a woman fest, its all girlie TV, now if all the girls are at home watching the TV your pubs/clubs are going to be sausage fests.

Anyway back to the point, Top Gear, Football and ? how many other manly TV programs can you name without searching ?

Can be amusing, but approach with caution.

You're never sure whether or not behind the comedy bigotry lies genuine bigotry.

well most of us seem to like him, me included. but sometimes his humours a bit hit and miss and im not that big a fan of the OTT drama/irony/sarcasm thing going on on Top Gear....its just there so they can soak up the laughter of the audience.

Clarkson, for me, personifies the difference between childish and child-like. Childishness is petty, which too many presenters are and he clearly isn't- but beneath his intelligent and erudite exterior he has a child-LIKE approach to new things, which is a good quality to have.

So, whilst I may not agree completely with all of his opinions (in fact, how wrong he is with some of his views adds to his comedic value at times), I admire his ability to cast aside his pseudo-pretentiousness and transform it into all-out boyishness.

He won't be as funny in person as on screen, as he is prepped up to the hilt being a natural writer, as opposed to a Paul Merton/ Jonathan Ross ad-libbing cheeky chappy. However, JC being a family man, I can't see him being genuinely bigoted. Top Gear is just good fun.

well said

I think a proportion of guys are just jealous of him getting to drive the best cars all day. To be honest if it wasn't on tv id love to do most of the stuff they do on Top Gear :D
