Only our FA could preside over a farce like this!

Well said randyandy...

As for Big Fat Potato, he saw a couple of reporters and bottled it. The media must be patting themselves on the back tonight.

He is a fine coach but obviously played the FA for a sucker to get a better deal from the Portugese FA.

However all this should have been done discreetly but some chance of that with a 5 man FA committee deciding on a candidate reporting back to the 12 man main FA committee who decide to ratify it or not then it's bound to get leaked to the media.

It should have been left to Brian Barwick to sort out but as always with the FA then it has too many people who are in a position of influence and they are more interested in keeping these positions than the good of the game.

Thats exactly my point about the FA. It's a political organisation and shagging the same bird as the then chief exec would mean his card would be marked.

The FA should have restructured years ago but alas it still rolls on.

Alot of sports governing bodies in the UK have people in it soley for their own benefit. My taffy mate reckons the Welsh RFU is fucked up but that's not my game so I'll have to take his word for it.

The thing with the FA was that it was suppose to be restructured some years ago which was something Adam Crozer attempted to start. Geoff Thompson took it on and filed a report which would have taken alot of power away from certain people but surprise surprise they rejected it all and decided to carry on as they were but then turkeys never vote for Xmas do they!

It used to be that British people were very prominant on the committees of the major world governing bodies like Fifa, Uefa, IOC and The IAAF but (I maybe wrong here) I don't believe that there are any major figures from these shores in any positions of power in these organisations any more.

Hardly surprising is it.
