She was rarely boring.
Unlike the politicians of today.
We lean towards the bland these days......
Politicians - Blair, Hoon, Kelly...
Music - David Gray, Coldplay, Travis....
Film Stars - Orlando Bloom, Jude Law, Paul Bettany...
All colourless.....
At least Mrs T had character even though I didn't agree with her politics....
She was popular up here in Scotland too.....
:):)
Ah.....the poll tax.......
Good days!!!

Very true JS. Loath her or love her at least she stuck to her guns unlike the wheedling pricks of today. The lady had more balls than all of her cabinet put together.

Also, let's not forget that she gave us the Video Recordings Act under the premise of 'protecting us' from video nasties and that the act was steered through the intricate windings of the sub-committee stages etc., by non other than the old toe sucking, column writing, football expert, Home Office Minister of the day, David Mellor.
Perhaps brerbear can spend a few days drooling over the this link:

Brezhnev took Afghanistan
Begin took Beirut
Galtieri he took the union jack
and Maggie over lunch one day
took a cruiser with all hands
apparently to make him give it back
what have we done? Maggie what have we done?
what have we done? to England...
should we shout? should we scream?
"what happened to the post war dream?"
oh Maggie Maggie what have we done?
