Surely if the show is set in 1973 they can play songs released in 1968 and 1971?

It'd only be an error if they were playing stuff from 1974 onwards.

It wouldn't be a mistake if a song from ten years ago was on the soundtrack to a show set now would it?

Loved him telling Marc Bolan to drive carefully "especially in Minis" last night.

I think the writing's pretty crap -last episode they took down Mr Big in about two seonds flat depsite the fact that he's supposed to have the entire town in his grip - but I still really enjoy it. The soundtrack especially.

For me, it's made by the guy who plays the guv. Pure Jack Regan. He looks like he smokes ten Senior Service for breakfast, chases them down with a glass of Bell's, and still has time to administer a good kicking to miscreants on the way in. He looks absolutely right for the era. An unreconstructed dinosaur. Shame he's got a heart of gold. I'd like him to be totally bent, but still likeable.

Goes without saying that I'd quite like the WPC to take down my particulars too, although her teeth are far too good for the early 1970s.

You were looking at her teeth??
Having not been around in the 70s much I cannot confirm the shows authenticity but it sure beats some of the crap that ITV drama are churning out, if they had a go at this they would ruin it by making it commercialised with mass product placement no doubt.
PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

I found the 'up-and-coming' Marc Bolan a little hard to take in as he'd been 'established' for 18 months by 1973.
Also, Bobby Charlton was virtually tee-total..........never seen in a club/bar. They should've put George Best in his place

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

I've met the man on the street............and he's a cunt

Of course, it hasn't yet been established in the series whether he actually is stuck in 1973, or he is in a coma imagining it, so the fact that Marc Bolan had been established for 18 months by then, or Bobby Charlton wouldn't be in a nightclub is irrelevant.
