Now I know British people are hard to please when I see people here dissing the Kong movie...Absolutely loved it.

Particularly Peter Jackson for putting himself in the bit of Jack Blacks character (dont tell me you dont see this: The egotisitical film director) and the various metaphors added some interest where a movie of this nature would normally fall down. Like good looking guys are just cream puffs...Lets face it, Adrien Brodie as a male lead to Naomi Watts is definitely not conventional casting to say the least.

Movie of the month and gets the One Eyed Jack stamp of approval...Narnia was dull as ditchwater for me and I struggled to keep my eyes open but it was only cos the girls I was with wanted to see it...

Its really weird Dave but you saw a pirate and didnt like it and everyone I saw it with spent 17.50 per seat in a great cinema and loved all 3 hours and 10 minutes of it.

I don't think I would ever watch a movie like King Kong on video before seeing it in the cinema, especially if I knew/thought it was going to be a dodgy copy.
Setting aside the ethical argument about piracy, its a totally different experience anyway.

I did say after watching it Terry that the effects probably needed to be seen on a big screen. But I still think it was about an hour an and a half too long. Everyone to their own taste.

17.50 for a cinema ticket??!!??

I went to see it tonight.
Like a lot of films these days...too long.
Could have all been done in 100 mins.
But I have to say the effects were some of the best I've seen.
And it was much more stimulating than Lord Of The Fucking Rings. (Yawn...)

My films of the year have to be Batman Begins, Sideways, A History Of Violence and Downfall.

Bring on Casino Royale....

17.50 for dress circle (balcony) tickets with comfy seats with arm rests you can pull back and convert into a sofa to stretch out and curl up like as if you were at home and allocated seating when booking...meaning no matter how close to the performance you turn up, the seat you booked is yours and if anybody is sitting in your seat...tell em to shiftos amigos! Muchas grass y arse!

You truly pay for what you get...and this is a treat I and my gang of friends reserve as a rare treat for the big movies worth seeing in a year on the bigger than average multiplex screen

Never ever let me see you complain about people downloading porn or music for free ;)

To say the effects look like computer generated effects.......of course they do thats because they are. You really think a 50ft silverback really exists???

?3 yes ?3 thats what UGC and UCI cinemas charge if you see a film before 12pm.

I got no time for people that do not support economy and then have the nerve to try and be a critic :)

I needed to see a cracking film after enduring "Green Street" and I thought King Kong was great in a "Sit back and enjoy the ride" type of way.

Made me well up, cracking film. Oh, mines a copy but I WILL go to cinema when kids are back to school and queues are down just to see the effects on large screen.
