Your not the only regular who's gone AWOL for an extended period

I don't wether 10CC were under rated or just a victim of the period with so many other Big Name Personalities stealing the headlines

Everything you read about Dire Straits says they were never under rated

When Mark Knofler had had enough of the public limelight it was game over

A New best of 2 CD Compilation of his work and dire straits stuff is due out 15/11/2005 according to his site

cheers

Jesus christ, Dire Straits sucked so badly.
The kind of music suburban couples would put on after their dinner party in the 80's.

One of the funniest things i ever saw, was at that gig, i dont know if you remember it. In the middle of the afternoon a bloke who was stark-bollock naked, jumped on one side of the stage, ran into the middle and proceeded to have a toss in front of 4,00,000 people. He ran off to the other end of the stage and leaped off thus breaking both ankles.
This was closely followed by a compere announcing that someone had just fallen head first into one of the piss-pits that were 8 foot deep.
I had a nap after all that and woke up just in time for Lynerd Skynerd singing Freebird, now that was a good day.

How many support acts are ever treated seriously/listened to by the fans who only have one thing on their minds, the main act?

Bugger all in my experience but having listened to a lot of 10cc over the years its not hard to see why you slept through it

I do indeed remember it well. My memories include the haunting Echoes played in between 10cc and The Stones. It was someting like 1 in the morning and everybody was stoned and trippin. I remember that there were more like 500,000 people than the reported 250,000. If you'll remember the parimeter fence was down all the way around. I also remember shagging my mates bird in her very tight sleeping bag in Knebworth station car park the night before. He was fast asleep in his. Musically Todd Rundgren was superb, Free bird was great as were 10cc. But The Stones were magnificent even if they did eventually arrive on stage 4 hours late due to technical problems during the day. I have them and the Zeppelin one in 79 which I also went to on dvd. Wonderful memories !
