For simple work Elements is the most cost effective, if all you're producing is website pics then it's fine. Don't think Elements will process raw files in batch mode however, so it's a pain.from that point of view.

My own workflow is as follows:

Convert from raw to 16bit tiff using Nikon Capture in batch mode.
Process the 16 bit tiff through "noise ninja" and output as a jpeg.
final crop the jpeg in Elements
