true, the word racist is overused these days and it's use willy nilly cheapens the word and what I feel is one of the worst aspects of humanity

but from what i've heard of this case so far

black boy with a white girl
abused standing at a bus stop
they try to move off to another bus stop
the black guy gets axed
the police state it as a racist attack (something they don't do lightly for fear of raising community tensions)

points very strongly to a racially motivated attack, but I agree the media jump too quickly with this sort of accusation

Snow is like the living embodiment of The Guardian, and can be quite ridiculous at times. If you ever want a regular laugh, subscribe to the Channel 4 News Snowmail each day. More eccentric than his uncle.

In this case, the victim did all he could to avoid any hassle---and still ended up with an axe embedded in his head. If it had been a white teenager with a black girl friend, and a group of black men had killed him it would be a race crime. Works both ways, Occifer.

Judging from what I've gathered, and how horribly quickly events unfolded, this is a crime of opportunism by those simply looking for trouble as much as anything else.

Do the guilty really care what -ism it could be labelled with as long as they get to dish out a bashing?

it was more likely the attackers were smacked out of there faces than a motivated attack.

The fact that it was almost certainly opportunist doesn't take the hate out of it. For Christ's sake, people, they used a fucking axe!

a stabbing or the use of an axe is so much more chilling than a report of a shooting.

People use guns are, somewhat, detatched from their victim.

But to split a man's head with an axe? That's the action of a truly deranged individual.

The death penalty, preferably a public hanging, should be introduced for murder.

Of course, and so it should, that's my point. I was just putting the boot in the infuriating, middleclass, BBC, Guardian, agenda of always highlighting race, gender, third world and sexual orientation issues. They hype up problems where there are none and avoid areas where there are. Knobs.

And the worrying thing is people are actually going for a night out with an axe in their coat ... just in case !!! If caught and sentenced he'll be out again in less than 10 years to do it again, even though the Social Workers thought he was a really nice bloke who did one bad thing when drunk. Life without parole is what he deserves.

And do you think that a discussion about a black kid being axed in the head after being racially abused is the best time to criticise the infuriating middle classes of highlighting race issues and avoiding areas where there are real problems?
