So more of the same Last Word
I've always thought that the only thing that really counts in Dr Who is the the Mysterious Doctor and his relationship with his Assistants
The rest is just a means for him to do his "good triumphs over Bad" AGAIN
The same theme good triumphing over Bad does get rather tiresome
which is where the humor kicks in to keep the interest of viewers
Probably typified best by Tom Baker
cheers

It showed a lot of promise, but I'll never trust a wheely bin again!
Characters introduced, it should take off properly.
Don't know what Woodgnome meant about Mr Norton, though.

More of the same indeed - and that was the problem. If I was told they'd shot this a fortnight after McCoy packed it in I would probably believe it, because that's how it looked and felt.
The BBC had the chance to do something really fresh and different from a moribund franchise, but judging from this they've chosen to repeat the mistakes that brought about its demise instead.

Hope that wasn't a subliminal message that there is going to be a Master.

Don't know which is the more disturbing notion, that Graham Norton made you think of the Master or that Graham Norton did.

D'oh! Meant to say Graham Norton or Woodgnome.
Don't even have drunkenness as an excuse.

Got to agree, very good entertainment. Nice to a big budget. Ecclescake has the right mix of mystery and humour, a la Tom Baker.
Billie Piper was a revelation, looked fit as hell, as did Carmen Coduri as her mother.

I thought it was really good and altho the plot was a bit rushed to finish it off in 1 episode, I still thought it showed promise.
Will definitely be watching the rest of the series !
