I couldn't agree more. They are now no longer pushovers as they were before.
We may not beat Australia next summer nor South Africa in the winter which is a tough one as well but they will be damn competitive series and we wouldn't have been able to say that a few years back.
One of the good things about the New Zealand series was that we played our best when the pressure was on which is always a good sign and a sign of a good side.

I think we will beat South Africa this winter. I also think we will beat Australia today.

I think we suprised them today.
They knew we were better than previous teams but I don't think they thought that we were this good.
Amazing when Brett Lee was bowling to Flintoff. He and the whole Australian team were trying to take something out of a game they got stuffed in.
This was something that you used to laugh at us about. "You take positives in defeat, we'll take positives from victory" they used to tell us.
How things have changed.
Maybe as Dean Jones said there will be a changing of the guard.

That England won wasn't such a surprise(14 losses on the trot over 5 years can't go on forever) but by how much was
A comprehensive thrashing...6 wickets & 4 overs to spare
The usual story....No Quality Spinner like Warne...No Aussies
Curious who stood up for England when it counted...Michael Vaughan
Maybe he's not such a one day lost cause afterall
cheers

'up the red sox'??
Bah!
A 5-4 win tonight over the Pirates and the Cubs take the lead (albeit a very small half-game lead) in the Wild Card.
Come on you Cubbies!

Well done the lads!
And to every single Australian (and American)- 'Your boys took one HELL of a beating.' Where did it all go wrong? The scars from this defeat will last a long time. And I can't wait to see the lads inflicting more damage to your already battered national pride next summer.
I will now go on record as saying I am backing England to win this trophy.
Gilchrist, McGrath, Gillespie, Lee at al... Come on in, your time is up.
