There has been no change in how the forum is moderated. Alec, myself and woodgnome patrol it in exactly the same way we always have.

The FAQ pretty much dictates what does and what doesn't get deleted, along with a hefty dollop of common sense ... the latter being the main reason why posts that are made with the sole intention to provoke or inflame often bite the dust (and usually without explanation).

i don't recall ever being deliberately rude towards you, yet you presume the best way of eliciting a response is through unprovoked, gratuitous posts, couched in accusatory terms (yes, i did think it was the drink talking to some extent but you say it wasn't). frankly, i'm baffled but as a long time and oft valued contributor to these forums, i would at the very least have expected basic civility on your part, even if you're as unhappy as you say you are about certain matters.

regarding those concerns - judging by your recent posting record it is possible that you missed the following thread, which addresses the issue of increased industry domination of the main forum:




as for the addition of new sponsors - this site costs increasing amounts of money to run and what we do, we do out of necessity, not to ramp up the takings so we can afford our own luxury bathing machines on jaywick sands (although why that should be seen as verging on the criminal when you consider the countless thousands of unpaid man hours that have gone into creating and maintaining this site, i'm not sure).
