Couldn't agree more.

Maybe my expectations were a little high, but after IT, with its well-written characters that you grew to care about, Tommyknockers just seemed to go through the motions with no thought whatsoever about character development.

Sorry, mate, if I didn't reply to your earlier missive it was only because I agreed with it. In my opinion there's only one writer who does childhood better, and that is someone who obviously influenced King: Ray Bradbury.

Pet Sematary was another shite book, imho. Didn't see the film, but I believe they're planning on remaking it.

TV mini-series of Salem's Lot had its moments, but was trying to be too many things at once; The Stand was better than we had any right to expect, with a very good cast. IT got two things right---the casting of Annette O'Toole and the excellent Tim Curry as Pennywise.

By the way, Magoo, where have you been. Michelle was looking for you last night.

Yes, Paramount are working on another Pet Semetary film.

There is also another Salem's Lot mini-series about to be broadcast in the US.

But the big and possibly bad news for King fans is The Talisman (one of my faves) is soon to start filming. Dreamworks have hired Edward Zwick (Glory/Last Samurai) to direct, and the script is reported to be very watered-down affair - little takes place in the Territories, Jack acquires the Talisman almost from the start - being but two minus points.

There was a kind of implied cross-dressing allegation about your good self, but no one believed it. Magoo in stockings? With those legs???

To be honest, I'm surprised she stuck around with the Beavis and Butthead show that was going on.

While I admit to being familiar with those gentlemen and their work, I am not so much an expert that I'd be able to attempt a dialogue on the subject.
