I get the distinct impression that it still largely depends on the mores of the individual officer. The police would never get away with behaving in this way. Why should Customs?

they do have quite a lot a franco and other 70's horror films but as most of them are now out of print the quality is not the best, but as you say they can be a nightmare to find
