True- an omnivorous diet (which is what our medium-length GI tracts were designed to cope with) would need the replacement of a set of teeth after about 30 years or so- which was probably early Man's average life-expectancy.
The inherent lack of 'forward planning' in our life-processes is for me further indirect evidence of the absence of a Creator.

.......you're in good company, then: Jim Watson (of DNA fame) came up in the 80s with his theory of 'Directed Panspermia', in which alien intelligences went about the Galaxy making nuisances of themselves by seeding likely-looking planets with appropriate DNA fragments.
He was (somewhat desperately) trying to account for the apparently extraordinarily-long lead-times thought necessary in order to produce viable complex organics by mere chance combination: a difficulty also challenged by Hoyle and Wickramasinghe with their 'Lifecloud' hypothesis. The original lead-time caclulations have since been (more or less) successfully challenged, but there is certainly a lot of work to do before the case for a totally random build-up of mutations is made. If the case for meteoritic origin of DNA around the 4 billion BP mark is finally proved it will only step the problem further on- i.e. how did these fragments then associate with each other to for replicant molecules?
That doesn't necessarily invalidate the hypothesis, though: it's merely the usual Ockhamist approach before they think up some even more fiendishly complicated explanation.

sorry jj I cant tap into that kinda mindset when I read these forums. If I knew who you were talking about I might stand a chance but as it is your, shall we say "choice of words" that complicate the matter (q.deliberately) I think Ill just take the first sentence and leave it at that

We can't prove or disprove a Creator exists
I choose not to believe in a supreme being rightly or wrongly
but don't ridicule those that do.
We all have some Crutch that gets us through each day
Funny thing is most people believe in a god when faced with their own mortality.....even non-believers

No, not a question the Scientific Method is equipped to address.

Same here.

Alcohol is my crutch of choice. And shouting at people. And kicking cats.

The ultimate hypocrisy- I could never believe that Catholic 'deathbed repentance' thing- I mean, what? God lets you off from having been a total bastard all yer life, just because you sign up to Jesus, Inc. five minutes before the Last Trump? I can't believe He's that naive.......just more priestly cynicism, like the selling of Indulgences....

Just my cynicism showing: that was a lovely, if a little idealistic, pair of paragraphs- pity more of the established Churches don't seem to sign up to the notion !! It''s tough but true: revenge is for children, and the emotionally immature.

No idea- people will scan their horoscopes minutely, even though it's a classic symptom of softening of the brain, and swallow wholesale all that von Daniken crapola: makes the notion of a deity seem positively sane in comparison.
I'd lock 'em all up, me.
