Anybody still think that Gordan Brown will pull Tony's chair from underneath him & be leader by the next election?

No way... Tony wants to win 3 in a row. Then after a suitable interlude, say 18 months, he'll resign for health reasons (he's already laid a few foundations there... heart scare a while back, for a start) and Gordon will take over.
Just remember, you read it here first!

Anybody here old enough to remember that old fart Denning? He once famously commented on an appeal that to accept the new evidence would be tantamount to accusing the police of a frame-up and that, of course, was inconceivable. Bastard.
I once had a girl-friend whose father was a retired Professor of Law. He couldn't understand why I should ask him if there was any procedure for dismissing a Judge. In his mind it was the equivalent of questioning papal infallibility.

How can you say Judge John Deed isn't realistic? He's not got dementia, he is aware of technology and pop culture, and doesn't visit a fetish house to eb chained to a wall and beaten twice a week. In what way does that differ from your average judge?

Isn't anyone going to say what a fair and impartial Report Lord Hutton produced?
No?
Anyone?
That's almost as surprisng as the fact that Hutton was so totally favourable to the Government and so at odds with almost everyones elses' perception of the facts. And if they push for more revenge-resignations at the Beeb it will be seen as confirmation that Labour are gunning for them- even more votes lost, Tone. Not that it matters- you'll be out next time. The British will stand still for an awful lot of crap from their politicians- but not crowing triumphalism based in blatant bias and skulduggery.

just shows that you can't trust politicians, judges, and the barristers/solicitor's - they wouldn't know the truth if it bit them.
but were we surprised that there wouldn't be a white wash?
i certainly wasn't
