well this topic clearly got a few more views than I expected after Terry's initial reply, but thanks for the conversation guys, it's interesting to get some other views of why women take the stance they do after essentially getting into a business that relies on people sleeping with each other

What girl is going to risk a grad career just to do a few scenes?
You'd be surprised.
There is a popular girl around at the moment who I'm convinced got into it to teach her parents a lesson in her self independence by dropping out of uni. We havent included the numerous teachers involved with this business that quit a teaching career to do this business. I can think of four
The ex probation officer
The police officers wife
Not to mention the numerous nurses over the years
The decision to quit and settle down with a bread winner is a tad cynical. I rather buy into the notion that some girls, once theyve got their wild adventurous years out the way want to settle down to that traditional relationship and find it difficult because it is hard to accept. Blokes all claim they want a porn star but are intimidated by their experience. This is where fantasy and reality collide for most men
Porn can be a life long career but if you want to really enjoy the richness of a relationship then shagging all and sundry as work soon loses its appeal. For some more than most but then some go onto what I describe as being products of the system.
These girls can drift seamlessly between escorting and porn as if they are one and the same and like men, can enjoy sex with a variety of people which makes it easier for them to do their job. Its the ones that do the drugs more than they should are kidding themselves and when it becomes an expensive habit they convince themselves they dont have a problem until one day they just pop with bizarre consequences. You know what Im talking about. The model that attacks her abusive partner with a samurai sword and goes down for attempted murder. The model that drinks too much and hits her head on the ground and dies.
People do enjoy blaming it on porn when porn is seldom to blame.
You can send me a cheque for ?70 for that if you like but Im happy with a pint of beer and a bag of chips !happy!

Perhaps I was being a tad cynical. I wonder how much money these girls save before leaving the industry . I'm sure some have raked in over a 100,000 in any given year, but how much of that would they actually save? Some perhaps leave millionaires, others with nothing, most hopefully with a mortgage-free home.
I'm still of the opinion that a girl sacrifices a reasonable chance at a so-called traditional married life once she's been plastered all over the net. Would hate to be that kid who's mum once did atm, but there are no shortage of blokes out there who would marry an ex pornstar, so good luck to them.

Sadly most end up broke as a joke BB
It amazes me that so many models, especially guys never think of putting any money behind them because they take for granted the fact the money was easy come easy go
Thankfully not everyone is that short sighted

This is really a Brit affair, but as I am long in the tooth and have shot porn
in a lot of countries, being currently based in E. Europe, I would disagree
somewhat with One Eyed Jack and Bicycle Bum......its unfair to consider
porn models as dumb broads (Bicycle) who could not get a job outside
this biz; its true they have to trade on their looks, but large numbers of
starlets, using video scenes/escorting/webcam etc make far more than me
and are far from stupid (I have also shot in my time one top U.S. star who
had a degree in marine biology while my own asst, a Hungarian twice-
winner of the best lesbian scene at the AVN Awards, has degrees in
literature and computer sciences).......One Eyed, while you are right upto a
point about couples, I have to say that the very DIFFERENT thing about
most Hungarian/Czech/Russian models is that they do porn only when they
are NOT in a relationship, stopping altogether when "in love", returning to
the biz after its over. Several of the male studs also behave like this.

Hi Frank
Im sure that may be the case for some couples. I know Carla Cox is of this line of thinking as she pointed out to me but I have also shot couples I have described in this way from the Czech Republic
Satin Bloom is married to Kamil ( I know, I went over there to film their wedding), Cindy Dollar, Nessa Devil and Etienne (whom I'm sure are still together) Natalli D'Angelo, Jenny Baby & Clark (from Hungary) Diana Doll when she was with Mickey Blue, Morgan & Charlie, Jennifer Max & Jimi, even Daria and JJ, Justine & Martin Gunn, Victoria and Patrick, ...all these couples I have based my opinions on. Natalli D'Angelo is an exception as her fella is ok with her doing hardcore and stated he is not jealous in the slightest. He's probably the only one that said that
I admit my kind of porn is probably not as blatantly explicit as their regular output but its the kind of porn they were happy to do. I also noticed a lot of couples decided they had become fed up of doing regular porn after the various outbreaks that affected Europe
Sorry for the name dropping but its the only way I could make my point to use real world examples

Didn't say porn models were dumb. Many people lack a university education without being dumb. Only a minority of porn models have a university education and not even a significant minority. The fact remains the sex trade is and will always be the biggest moneyspinner for most girls, and since you get used to having that much money coming in there is little incentive to get an education. It's easier just to pull some guy earning 50k+ and hope all those ATM scenes don't turn him off. No one knows more about ATM excess than Czech and Hungarian girls. It's funny, one week they're eating ass juice by the gallon then the next week they fall in love. Hilarious!

Thats because its a job requirement. Its not invented by porn producers who think thats what is sexy
Its because it is nasty and they know it is this ingredient that is the wankers equivalent of a speedball.
Some people make the nastiest hardcore with the prettiest girls because its simply a way of making the most money. 21st Sextury is a perfect example of this
Its like being thrilled by stunts in an action movie. Porn is just like that. its not meant to be the loving tender sex with kisses you get at home. In a wank fuelled frenzy there is no time for being nice. Thats way too creepy.
To quote Michael Caines character in Mona Lisa: " I want it dirty, filthy, nasty and I dont wanna hear anything about tea!!!!" (was that a jab at brit porn???)

Any girl who would engage in ATM loses her self respect as far as I'm concerned, and any girl with no self respect has no business being in a normal relationship. She has the option of saying no to ATM and a number of other acts that cross the line, but she does it for the extra money so that makes her a supreme whore. Supreme whores should stay whores and leave normal relationships to others.

I am sure that a lot of ladies in the business can perform ATM and still maintain their 'self-respect', even if you don't think it possible.
Likewise there will be other ladies who might not engage in said act, yet perhaps lack self-respect for entirely unconnected reasons. The two propositions are definitely not mutually exclusive, imo.
