It's already been written; Simon Sheridan's excellent COME PLAY WITH ME; The Life and Films of Mary Millington. Amazingly it's now ten years since it first came out; let's hope there will a reprint before too long.

No one outside of the porn business and interested parties has ever heard of any of them.
Ben Dover can't find a publisher, nor could Rico.
There are no porn stars over here that I can think of who regularly appear in mainstream TV/films or even eclectic ones.
Ain't gonna happen any time soon....

Gotta agree with essex lad.
Porn just is not that interesting outside of a wank to regular folk who dont care to know names just because a few hundred or if we ar elucky thousand people happen to know the odd name or two in UK porn.
Some body like say Melissa Walker could write a book with porn as a back drop but ultimately the angle of th ebook would be about a normla regualr girl whose life took a wrong turn and tried to kill her boyfriend.
Then throw in elements of my dodgy stepdad and alcoholic mother who systematically abused drugs and alcohol and dished out beatings that had me street walkeing by the time I was 10 then you might get a book published.
A lot of people cant just get a book published on the basis of their porn career anymore.
Too many people doing it now that the novelty has worn off.
People back inthe days of the 60s and 70's now thats another thing. Porn was a lot more exciting when it was illegal. Police corruption, 70s scene, drugs, flairs, platform shoes, racial tension....Oh yeah!

I agree that folk outside of porn wouldn't have heard of these people, but I don't think many people, other than porn consumers, had heard of the prolific Amercian stars in the 1980's either - but the amount of porn fans who knew them and liked them was sufficient for books to be written as there would be enough of a market for them.
Ginger Lynn was probably America's biggest pornstar in the 1980's, she had fans who worshipped her. She said in an interview once that a man who lived a long way from her left his wife and three kids for good and moved to near where she lived - just so he could be close to her. He was never a danger to her, just fixated, and being near her was important to him.
By the 1990's Ginger Lynn was as famous in Los Angeles as most Hollywood stars, in that most people had heard of her. One very bizarre thing occured in the 1990's: someone representing her applied to have a State Holiday on her birthday and it be called 'Ginger Lynn Day'. It was declined (no surprise!).
If you look around online you can find fan photos of a fan posing with Poppy Morgan, there are quite a few, so Poppy has achieved sort of popstar status - but only of course amongst the people who watch her movies. Bearing in mind that the average book sells 500 copies then I don't think it is that crazy a proposal to have a biography written about a pornstar who is big in the UK industry - for a start she will have more than 500 fans and if marketed right the book who sell enough copies to pay for itself.

I also agree to a certain extent but I do think it is a sad reflection of the 'British' syche that people in this biz in the USA are put up on pedastals somewhat even admired in some quarters but over here they're firmly put in the gutter and even ridiculed ! This is very sad indeed.

True - but there is a heck of a difference between someone paying a fiver to have their picture taken with Poppy Morgan/LDM/Cathy Barry - perm any one from 10 - and going into a bookshop and laying out ?18.95 for a hardback book.
Ginger Lynn even at her porn height appeared in mainstream films and the occasional TV show. When was the last time you saw Layla Jade, for example, on The Bill?
