you keep saying its a shame? How is it a shame? Its a shame for all of the peadophiles out there who want to look at photos of minors in adult situations, but it is deffinatly not a shame for the rest of us.
You have to remember that at 16 they would still legally be children and to photograph or video them in that way is just child pornography.

I stand by my point that it is not illegal to have in ones possession pictorial material of a sexual nature that involves you in a continuing (legal) relationship. For example were two 17 yr olds to marry, it would be ridiculous if pictures they took of each other in a sexual situation were deemed illegal, as long as they kept them strictly to themselves and only for the duration of the relationship. To not destroy the material after the end of the relationship, were either participant under 18 ( but over 16) when the pics were taken would subsequently constitute an offence.
Quite clearly I am not refering to material shot by a third party for public consumption, which would obviously and correctly be wrong legally and morally.
Perhaps any barristers amongst us can comment.

I believe it is also illegal for an adult to engage in a sexual act with a person who is aged 16, the age of consent only applies to other 16-17 year olds , anyone older than this having sex with a 16-17 year old is as i understand it breaking the law.

Whatever anybodys views on this subject,the law of the land stipulates that a model both male or female has to be 18 or above to perform in adult entertainment,And im pretty sure that must apply to lapdancing as well,as you would have to be 18 to be in the club in the first place!

Obviously the inconsistency lies in the 2 year surfeit between the age of consent (16) and the law re adult films (18).I personally think the law is fair and just,and would definitely support the prosecution of anybody who flouted the law.

However in passing,I can remember escort and other mags when i was growing up having models who were 16 and 17 in their "girls of" town sections,plus i remember Mayfair doing something similar,with the models parentsconsent.Im guessing that the law is more stringently enforced these days due to the increase in production of porn worldwide.

And lets be honest,the law is right about this!
