It depends what you mean by Erotica.
There are "soft" sites which use erotic content. Obvious ones are Met-Art, Femjoy, but Michael Whites Breathtakers and MPL studios are also nice......
But I suspect in a lot of cases these sites are popular in spite off, rather than because off, the soft content.....probably because the subscribers can see pussies they wont see anywhere else
Generally speaking if you go to soft on the more mainstream sites, the content gets lower ratings. For mags, if you try to deviate to far from their "formula", the sets get rejected.
Men are generally simple creatures....with not that many exceptions, they only want to see the pussy, they dont care about bells and whistles and good photography.
Titles like Escort and websites concentrating on good old fashioned no frills smut will always be the most popular with the masses.
I've thought about and indeed went quite far down the line off producing an erotic website, but then I thought "whats the point"...its not really what most people want and would only work if it were free!

For decent erotic movies, you need look no further than Viv Thomas, for a benchmark which I would like to see more producers aspire to.

We come under the whole erotica/art-porn thing, so I'm told. Plugged this a couple of years ago then abandoned it, but here's a reminder. It'll finally see the light of day early next year. Hope you like it

I didnt say it was "non-existent", I said "The fact is most don't care for it and never did".
Most people on the planet dont care for japanese bug eating porn or frog smashing porn but its still produced and marketed.

But is it a case that the current stuff is selling because there's nothing better being produced at present?

I would say that erotica is something the industry has been needing for years.
As an observer I feel the industry has many problems but the biggest by far is soft being peddled as hard on the adult tv channels.
For some reason that lack of hard and the complaints about it has translated into a need for hard to be extreme when it is available on websites etc.
'Normal' sex has to be turned into spitting fests, slapping, gagging, women being called sluts, whores, bitches etc when all that was required was for the decent models on the telly taking cock but not being seen to take cock getting a visible rogering.
There will always be calls for a decent looking X to do harder hard core but most will be happy just see her being shagged.

Andy, you make some good points there... I guess one factor is money... to make good erotica requires a decent amount spent on styling, sets, soundtrack, etc, not to mention all the time spent in the editing suite.
And I agree, modern porn only seems to want to abuse the girls... what ever happened to treating them with a bit of good old fashioned respect, and worshipping them as the beautiful sexy creatures they are?

Stormchild,
If by "erotic" you mean "female friendly" porn then I would say yes, there is a place and probably a market for it.
Porn that, as Floydoid put it, treats women as the beautiful creatures they are. It may be boring to some but where the girl is on the receiving end of a long, sensual, foreplay session by the guy she's with before the "main event". And even then she wouldn't be "banged silly" but with long, slow, sensual sex.
In other words, the girl is the focus of attention and is the one being pleasured as opposed to the guy "using" her for "his" pleasure.
Well, that's my tupenceworth anyway. !happy!
