Well there's a video of her talking on the article, and you can't exactly fabricate that. Like you say, there's plenty of stuff they could have filled a small article with.

Totally bizarre - I'm going for the 'she's scammed the NOTW' theory, personally. Her website's still going strong, she did This Morning a couple of months ago talking about shagging around, and she's doing TVX.

That article makes it sound like she's a naive young girl who did a couple of films abroad and now regrets it. Whereas anyone with even the minimum of research skills can discover the truth.
