New Labour is far furthur to the right than even Thatcher in her heyday.

Prior to Linzi, those involved in the British sex business tended to have a rather shamefaced air about them - "if we weren't doing this, then someone else would" sort of thing. This suited the establishment who could pretend that it was of interest to a few dirty old men.

Linzi was gorgeous, intelligent and with a flair for writing and broadcasting enthusiastically about sex. That consenting adults should enjoy it without inhibitions and that porn should be a celebration of this.

This being the UK, there are still loud voices calling for more repression, but are frustrated by a public that have loosened up a lot and are more sexually liberal and tolerant than they were twenty years ago. Linzi played a part in achieving this.

I'm not easily impressed but she's a real hero of mine.

Yes it's an irony that this government relaxed the curbs on hardcore. Ban, curb , crackdown and control seem to be the favourite words of the average Labour MP.

The Tories are supposed to stand for freedom of the individual, but have always had a puritanical element with Daily Mail attitudes. You know, scream like hell about the 'nanny state' while lobbying for the most rigorous state sex-censorship possible.
