I'm afraid it's been like that in porn for over twenty years. The great French porn star of the 70s, Brigitte Lahaie, gave exactly that reason when she quit doing porn, and so did others of the same era, like the American Jesie St. James.
Fortunately many of the classics of the 70s and early 80s are being re-released on DVD.

Arguably people like Robert De Niro and Jack Nicholson have been making the same films for the last 20 years (with one or two exceptions). I guess the incentive is greater when you're being paid millions.

I haven't seen anything that's been overall impressive for a while now. Usually, I'll find 1 scene out of 5 that retains my interest. Shockingly, the last one I've ever enjoyed was Big Bugger. Ha ha! It was just weird seeing a minor celeb turn porn actress. But other than that, I just feel that I've seen it all as I've gotten older, different girl/same style. Especially some of the Rude Britannia stuff. There's no real difference between each title...except maybe Kendo's stuff. Great titles, only niggle is that they never quite satisfy...there's always something missing (I've noticed a lot of choppy cuts though). But those Kendo titles are great fun.
In my film class in uni, we have a couple of girls who are starting a porn company when they finish. They're not going to be in the films though! Ha ha! But they're doing it cos they feel that porn is just gotten a bit stale and they want to try something arty and a bit different. I told them about my "emo girl porno niche" which they totally agree with. Anyways, I hope they come out with something good...I'm pretty sure it'll be different.

You're right Andy, why should they use their imagination when what they're churning out now still sells.
I don't think Kim was trying to be brave, she makes her own stuff so I doubt if she really gives a stuff about what the usual suspects are still producing. Two different markets.
The reason film producers are desperate for newbie girls to do Boy/Girl stuff is because without the new faces, every film they produce would be exactly the same.

I agree with Nicky, to be frank, its very boring and same-same. saying that it doesnt deter me from buying!
Personally i think some of the stuff anjali does on her sites is a little bit different, and a bit refreshing...!
