"I think the general problem may lay at the feet of the producers but it seems a lot of models don't own these sort of clothes...it seems."

That's because they are chavs, Tel. Chav birds don't want o be seen wearing lingerie, makeup, and skirts - because that kind of thing is for girls! (Remember those?). No, ya common chav bird is much more at home in jeans and vest tops, often to be found in groups of similar sorts rolling around in town centre gutters of an evening in a state of paralytic inebriation, spewing vomit and bawling crude obscenities. These charming engaging creatures have little time for preening and making themselves attractive to the opposite sex. Instead, they devote themselves to a life of lairy chavery. Word on the street has it that they may occasionally be tempted by a few crumbs of mammon to go through the motions of the sex act, playing the part that used to be the sole preserve of girls (an endangered species - not many about nowadays). Viewers may be startled to hear that this dismal parody of eroticism and the human sex act can, even now, still be appreciated by the ODD lonely male ? particularly if he has an over active hormonal gland.

I've hardly done a shoot without stockings etc in 4+ years. I have a stock of clothing for the models just in case.. I have red, white and black stockings in every form possible.. hold ups to suspenders... fishnet to plain.. seamed... non seamed.. You name it .. LOL

They make a shoot for me. then again like Jim Slip, being just a little over 21 we missed them in the 60's when tights were in, so that must be why we love them now :)

Stockings and suspenders went out of fashion with the coming of the chav bird in the mid 90's. But they have never really gone out of fashion with guys, who can't get their heads round why birds aren?t wearing them nowadays (don't they want to be seen as sexual sensual desirable creatures?). It's not that males don't dig them anymore, either. It's just that the world is moving so fast now that it's all becoming a blur. We are being bombarded with information from all angles at such an ever increasing rate that it's difficult to stop and focus - suspenders just one small issues out of the hundreds that you have to apply your mind to each day. There's hardly any time to digest it and come to conclusion, much less register a complaint.

Tell you what?s struck me though. Whenever a photographer posts some new piccys of a chav-age bird wearing some lingerie or imaginative sexy clobber, I have a look and always think to myself ?Bollocks! That?s not her clobber ? they?re just props that you?ve provided for her!? The photo may be technically perfect, but there?s something incongruous about the whole thing, subliminal. It just doesn?t feel right, like one of those ?What?s wrong with this picture?? competitions. The thing that?s wrong of course is that the bird is a chav bird and in reality she?s probably never owned a pair of stockings or a suspender belt and the idea of wearing them to appear sexy and desirable to the opposite sex has never occurred entered her head (till this odd photographer chap asked her to put them on). In fact the sexiest piece of clobber that she probably owns is a nylon Addidas football shirt and matching tracky bottoms.

You know, the glamour girls of yesteryear were the real deal. They wore suspenders for photo shoots, but they also wore them for going out on dates and to pubs ?n? clubs (well, all my birds did anyway). In the immortal words of Joni Mitchell ?You don?t know what you?ve got till it?s gone.?

Give the Chav soundbite a rest, please, Officer. It's old and tired in a Daily Mail editorial, let alone being used in a reasoned argument.

Stockings and suspenders and thigh-length boots=Very good.

The chav thing is irrelevant.
There are lots of girls who grace this forum who don't wear S&S. Are you calling them chavs?
Please stop applying it every thing you dislike. Correction, you won't apply it to me of course, because I'm the other hate object...a middle-class, Guardian reader.

If I can add my comments, our whole site www.onlytease.com is predominantly built around models in stockings. Its not hardcore but you get to see some stunners in stockings and lovely lingerie.

Leave it out Carac. It's not a question of 'old and tired'. Chav is simply a handle, a convenient way of referring to those, usually of the younger generation and usually of the lowest intellectual and socio-economic classes, who adhere to a set a wanky, debased, non-values and social mores. A section of society that can often be identified by their lack of personal grooming or any decent sartorial style. But don't you think all that is a bit of a mouthful? Don't you think it much more efficient and economical just to say 'chav'? Yes, of course it is. Everyone knows what we mean then. I know you can see that now, Carac. So, chav it is then. Job sorted.

"The chav thing is irrelevant."

No it's not. Girls don't wear stockings and supenders now because they are either chavs or following the dictates of chav fashion.

"There are lots of girls who grace this forum who don't wear S&S. Are you calling them chavs?"

I've come to view many of the under 30's as 'the chav generation'. Even if they are not hardcore chavs they will usually display some chavy attitudes, values, tastes and/or elements of chav sartorial style.

Please stop applying it every thing you dislike

But it encompasses much I do dislike, so I find it well convenient.

"Correction, you won't apply it to me of course, because I'm the other hate object...a middle-class, Guardian reader."

No, you can rest easy there, mart. You maybe many things but you are not a chav. However, even members of the younger student classes now display traces of chaviness - over confidence, lack of respect, an interest in the vacuous and lairy - like 'Big Brother', 'Search For A Pop-Tart', 'X-Factor' etc. I note the young middleclasses are always well represented in those institutions. Yep, jobs a crap 'un.
