It's a pretty daft situation. I buy R18 films from a company based abroad who then dispatch them to me from within the UK.

If they are R18 then they might come from the UK but if they are uncensored then they don't.

These are packaged abroad (has to be within the EU) and they then use a mailing company to get them into the UK and themailing company then uses the Royal Mail.

So it gives the impression that they have been posted from the UK when they have not. They are also subject to customs checks although you won't get a VAT charge as they come from within the EU.

So you think they are posted from these shores but actually they are not.

Apologies forget to say this is not true of all companies but most do this.

Maybe things are better the way they are. If it became legal to sell outside sex shops the market would open up even more for more producers coming out of nowhere thinking they'll become millionaires over night, contributing to an already oversaturated market and no doubt it takes one person or comapnie to abuse this to send us spiralling back to the underground...Hmm, doesnt sound like a bad idea.

But the other way of looking at it Terry is that if the current law is binned then it could open up more retail outlets and I'm not just talking about the internet.

Therefore more places would stock your titles and maybe open things up to a new market of people who didn't have access to hardcore before.

Then maybe you might get more sales as demand increases.

I say maybe as it's not guaranteed to be the case. Nothing ever is but wouldn't it be nice to find out?

I don't blame you for wanting to protect your position as a producer, but for us punters, more producers will be better.

BETTER producers will be better still. Films with a bit of passion would be an improvement on the last one I bought that was produced by someone not a million miles from here.

Let's face it the law is bollocks!

You can buy american porn from from ?6.99 including postage. And all you have to do is click "I am over 18" twice! It's probably cheaper than it is to buy a hardcore mag down your local newsagent (assuming they sell the stuff).

It's less than a CD costs down Tesco. So if I were a under age kid, where would I go to get porn!, a web site I get my CD's from for less than ?7 or buy a R18 over the web for ?15-?25.

Shit the only reason I pay the premium is I hate American porn. I downloaded "Fuck me up the ass and make me cum 4", which features McKenzie Lee. The bloke that is shagging her mumbles through-out and you can't hear a word he says. Not to mention that anything produced in NTSC allways looks bollocks! Please give me Uncle Ben and Relish anyday!
