If Rocco didn't want them used then thats almost as strong an argument for using them as the safety aspect....

Another quote from Patrick Collins (Elegant Angel) was something along the lines of "It would be like watching a high wire walker in the circus, wearing safety gear and with a net below - safer, yes ... but as entertaining, no". It's estimated only 17% (it peaked at 22% during the HIV scare) of porn stars wear condoms and feedback to studios does show consumers don't like them.

It was talked about in LA last year of making condoms compulsory, but studios threatened to move to other states (huge tax loss for) and then it was found to be unenforceable on health grounds as an employer-employee relationship doesn't exist between producers and performers and it falls outside of existing Occupational H&S law. Other fears existed about forcing production underground and making it even less safe than it is now without condoms.

At the end of the day it's up to the performer, but in the US at least, not sure about here, performers get paid less if they wear a condom.

Condoms are a turn-off. I hate using the damned things and I dislike watching them even more.

Having said that, the bottom line is that you should do whatever you feel safe/comfortable with. It's your life and your safety and you shouldn't base your decision on what I or any other punter thinks.
