Working in porn will never be an accepted career in the eyes of the establishment or the general public - not in this country or even those more sexually liberated. Places where it's not frowned upon and it is seen as a way out of poverty (Czech Rep, Hungary) also leads to a strange phenomena of an army of stunningly beautiful sex machines that perform like robots. So a bit of prudishness and a dark side to the industry lead to a more varied type of talent emerging for different reasons. British have conflicting views on sex, go to Amsterdam and it seems most of the redlight/drug visitors are English and they love it - but would they want that scene back in Newcastle for instance - and most will say definately not. Porn and the dirty mac brigade and sexual abusers are all lumped into one pot and that's how it will stay for most people.

I was advised to watch last nights episode and whilst I agree that the content in general was correct and whilst AIM was portrayed as a non-profit making organisation with the greatest"noblesse oblige", I could not help wondering why she was
(a) obviously heavily sponsored ,and
(b) obviously in the lap of the total utter scumbag calling himself Max Hardcore.
I agree that the doc makers can only film what they are allowed to and what they see, and also that it DID seem that they were really trying to be objective. But it came out all wrong.

Interesting thoughts,
I disagree one eyed. I don't think tv or the media always gives the bad side. I think comparing how porn has slowly but surely become even more acceptable now that is due to technology advances, but also people are changing their views on it.
There seems to be every month program on tv about porn, good and bad.
But I know that there are people who do get hurt in the industry and there always will because its a business, people do it to make MONEY.
which is fine but for business to succeed you have to be tough and that can affect other people.
regards

Faye... Go to bed it's late...
Shame they didn't show you girls getting dirty in tonights programme... But apart from that the programme was as expected... And I was happy with it, and the title I was given during my speaking part, though I do feel for Frankie, who has since quit the biz as far as I know.
So.... I'm now available for weddings, barmitzvah's and funerals...

The whole concept of these programs " the dark side of porn" is just yet another typical way for mainstream ignorant tv companies to condemn, ridicule and yes even exploit the porn industry and we who work in it as at best a bunch of sicko's at worst a bunch of well - murderers. Channel 4 - you're a bunch of twats.
Someone from Channel 4 should commission me to make a serious documentry about how good the porn biz can be, or wouldn't anybody want it or watch it !!!!

Yes I agree with you Dave, Porn is considered to be so sleezy, and programs like that just make it worst. I think all the models and producers are such nice and down to earth people, more so than people outside of the industry! What so bad about making porn movies? Everybody loves sex, its a wonderful thing but porn has such a bad name, because people dont understand we are normal too. Its ok to go to cinema and watch people killing each other and being really violent! I think people think that us as models are forced into doing it and we are unhappy ect ect, maybee thats why people frown upon it, thats far from the truth, we all have fun and work in the industry of our own free will, I think they should now make a programme on what a good life we have xx

avalon;think the 50s and early 60s before it grew was considered to be sleazy before its heyday.
