With DVD players less than 40 quid I reckon that should be top of your list, can't beat scene selection, 32 speed forward and rewind plus sharp clear pauses etc. ;O)

I bought a video 2 weeks ago for the first time since I had my DVD player and bloody hated it, it felt like going to a ZX Spectrum instead of a Pentium PC!!!!

i use the private shop in derby with no problems. the dvds or vids are typically ?30 though some are ?20. the best thing to do is buy the daily sport just to get the "buy one get one free" voucher and take that in to the shop, two dvds for ?30 then, great value!!

Hi london male. I originally come from Plymouth but now live in Cardiff. There are 3 sex shops (including a Private) and personally I wouldn't buy anything from them. Not because they don't do hardcore - because they do, but simply the prices are just an out-and-out rip-off. They want anything between ?40 and ?55 for DVDs I buying from Holland for anything between 10 and 15 EUROS.

The ones I always use and have little or no bother with are:

www.erodvd.nl
www.freerecordshop.com

Hope that helps and good luck.

Hi mate,

I have used the one in Derrys Cross by the Theatre Royal a couple of times and it's fine.

As the others say don't pay the prices advertised. They are listed as ?40 so don't go that high.

Tell the guy that you have bought full hard core off Tabor and simplythebestdvd.com and that you pay ?20 per Dvd and no more.

He will then go down to ?20 and this is where you ask for a discount. A previous forumite said 3 for ?50 and thats what I pay.

If he's not prepared to do that for you as well (with or without a voucher) then he obviously don't want your money and take a walk and go elsewhere.

Thanks for the tip eduardo. It just goes to show how much they're ripping people off in the first place if they are willing to drop their prices like this. I still think ?20 is too much. With the guys I get my DVDs from I can get nearly 3 Ben Dover DVDs for that.

Ourl local shop is run by a pure cunt. He will spin any yarn you like. Of you believe him there are hardcore Jo Guest and Teresa May vids available, just slip him the odd wad of ?100 and he will let you down!

Apart from being a wife beater he also dabbles in drugs..........

Allegedly they run a part ex scheme but a DNA sample is needed to prove purchase.

He is the type of guy who gives porn its bad name. If he treated customers with some decency he could increase trade 5 fold.

My advice would be to buy a dvd player first, you can pick them up for as little as ?30, and you'll save that in no time by ordering films online from some of the suppliers others have mentioned on here (I personally usually buy from US suppliers as I generally prefer US stuff, I can recommend www.fivestardvd.com , although if you order with courier delivery you will most likely get hit for customs charges [import duty, not seizures or anything] + VAT). Another benefit in buying online is that you will have far greater choice than you will in a local shop

Personally I think that DVDs have made VHS virtually obsolete, with great scene access, extras etc, and better picture quality, but I know there are those who still prefer VHS.
