Regarding famous faces being good sellers; That's just what I've found when I've put various movies and compilations together over the years. And when I say famous faces I mean girls who were at the top of the glamour magazine tree prior to 1996. It seems after that, as far as the punters are concerned, there have been no famous faces and they are not particularly interested in anyone in adult entertainment after that (you could start a very interesting thread as to why that might be.) There are girls working now who are regularly mentioned on here, but outside of this forum no one knows them and Joe Public is not interested. Nowadays, girls have to be very special indeed to make anyone sit up. Like Jason said (I admire a chap who speaks his mind) there are only half a dozen girls about now who might actually be worth hiring to attract punters to your video/program on the strength their name and quality alone, and most of 'em don't do hardcore (not necessarily a bad thing.)

The reasons for all this are due to the cultural, social and technological changes that have happened over the past decade. Put simply, naked girls are no big deal anymore. They're everywhere and they all now adopt a plain, cloneish, semi-androgynies look (and attitude) which is certainly not the way to a man's dick. They don't go out of the way to dress nice or look nice like they used to. Have a look down any High Street it?s all dirty jeans and vest tops. How alluring is that? It's as if they don't care - to busy indulging in drunken revels and watching ?Big Brother? with 'their mates' maybe? And if they can't be bothered about chaps, you can't expect chaps to be bothered about them.

I dig what you're saying about being told what to fancy by The Current Bun and those crap lads mags. Yes, we've all seen 'em in WH Smiths. There's always some ultra bland thin blonde on the front cover with a bland straight plastered down hair cut and no discernable body shape at all. And it always excitedly says - "This Month We've Got - Ta Da! (Pause for effect) ***** ***** in her swimsuit! And I'm stood there thinking "Who the fucks ***** *****? And why should I care? She looks about as sexy as a soggy loaf of sliced Mother's Pride bread!

Agree with you about Jordan. She's the Queen of slappas. Britain?s answer to ?Pammy? not my kind of dream bird at all. I see now she's saying that she's not really a lairy slappa, it was all a big act and in fact she's nice Katie Price, the pretty girl from next door. But to give her a bit of credit, if you forget about all he Jordan nonsense Katie Price is a striking looking girl. I agree with Stonevid especially the bit about the amateurs with shitty camcorders stuff. I want to see gorgeous women in films I buy. It doesn't matter to me whether she looks like the girl next door or whether she looks way out of my league, I just want her to be HOT. After all porn isn't supposed to be about real life, we get enough of that in the real world. Porn is like any entertainment, in my opinion anyway, it should be escapism. I want to see a girl that I have no way in hell of ever getting into bed in film I buy. I will never get fed up of seeing models like Karina, Taylor,Layla etc in films I buy. I am sure there are plenty of people who disagree but if I see a film on sale saying "amateurs" the first thing I look at is the photos on the cover, ie are they good looking! If not I will move on and find the latest release from a famous star who I have seen before.

Can I add an observation? I'm fed up with seeing a good-looking new girl in a flick, trying to find out what else she's done, and discovering that she's already 'retired' from the biz.
Grrrr! It's no wonder the long-standing stars have such a big fan base - they've been around for such a long time, by definition.
Sometimes I want to invest my time following the progress of a new name, but invariably they pack it in after just a couple of titles.
Young Katie Kaliana from Babestation is just one example - phoned up the show for a chat, found a couple of her films, followed a few links on this site, and enjoyed her work.
Suddenly, within 6 months, she's disappeared from the planet. Sure, I still have the videos, but that's all...
So I might as well go back to one of the girls who's been around for ages. They might not be my cup of tea, or the best looking, or I might have seen them hundreds of times before, but at least... well, they're still 'there', aren't they.
In some strange way, just by still being around, they're repaying all my loyalty.
