Sorry guys, but for once i have to agree with John.
Of course nothing is worth losing your life over, but if you are a doorman at a nightclub you know the risks. Well this is porn,and hiv is one of the risks.

Unfortunately the banks or credit card companies wont accept hiv risks as an answer to non payments.So what do you suggest i do.

I see your point and John's but ask yourself this question: if it's down to the individual performer to take this decision and not the producer then what happens when a performer decides I'm going to use condoms, is the produce going to say, that's fine I respect your decision or f off, I'm not going to make as much money out of condom movies?

I'm sure you wouldn't do that, or John and many others but in a competitive market there are those who would and under those circustances I think it is important for producers as much as performers to take a stand - the market will adapt to the new trends as markets do if enough people are willing to change the cultural status quo - but that requires a common stand by all in the industry, not just peformers as individuals.

In answer to your question, i will not book a performer who wishes to use condoms, as for me the whole reason for porn is dirty sex.
This is the business, fuck me we get enough complaints if there is not d/p's or the sex is not strong enough.

With John & Marino on this one, I would rather work with a few choosen friends who I know are clean than someone just back from the capital of HIV if it means I don't shoot a US import or export then thats how I will need to work. This will only effect professionals as they are desperate looking for the next job, Amatuers will still be able to do the odd job make a few quid to buy some new clothes and go back to being housewifes. This does not mean we will be able to ignore them from the 30 day test just encourge them to test with us.
Behind the scenes professionals are trying to help make it easier some like myself have even offered to go along to a NHS clinic with an actress or Actor and get their tests supervised so in the event of a NHS refusing to give a writen restult we could have a second party like myself approving the results. This is unusual but we work in an unusual industry. We have to look for an answer to the whole question no 1 part. Condoms work in some films they don't in others. It is also fair to say the two companies in question do not only put out Condom movies only their starlets or contract girls work with condoms.
Speaking as someone who has been with the top people at the best parties I can tell you they do not all live this rule and as a punter you are right to believe in all these drug and alcohol sex parties where to stars bang like a salvation army drum. They are great.
If you think we are being irisponsible you are correct but thats what porn is we cannot get rid of the dangers only lessen them. Like Marino say's we all know them and there is far more danger in being a pop star than a porn star. FACT.

i agree to some extent to whats being said and it woul be nice to work with a few close friends but then people would start over shooting this group and then what do u do .... i think allot of what is being talked about here is money and what is money if u aint got ur life let me tell u somthing ive lost 2 shoots so far becasue i said i was using condoms and thus lost about a grand but u know what i really do not give a fucking shit becasue a grand is fucking nothing at the end of the day this isnt a little matter its huge its lives at risk and after whats been wrote in the sun and the mirror today wouldnt be suprised if the goverment doesnt get involved in one way or another ........ i understand producers not wanting to shoot condom but i think for the saftey of everyone in the industry until the time period has eleapsed and everyone im working with has been dna tested thats one nnow and after 60 days im standing firm and evenn if it loses me work now and in the future my life is worth so so much more

i know some companys are in talks and i hope to get a meeting between performers becasue it is the performers saftey we are talking about and instead of all these producers sitting down and making the rules i think us AS THE PERFORMERS TAKING THE RISK should have an emergancy meetoing asap i dont expect the industry to change forever i just want it to be made safe over the next 2 to 3 months so an epedemic doesnt occur here darren james was a guy i knew and liked and i dont want to see any more of my friends and work collegues effected by this outbreak so come on people out there whats 60 days of condoms do u choose that or risk ur life for a few hundred quick

Someone told me that a GUM clinic told her to use the female condom for protection. Personally I did not think this could be as effective as the male condom. Anybody got any thoughts on this - would it be marginally safer for guys who insist on "no condoms" for the woman to use one?

the only way we can make it safe is to work condom only till every performer has had 2 dna tests i have spoken to alot of the top talent and they are all gona be usig condoms so can we all make it wednesday

Hi Mark from Dive in the Dark here,

I am currently in the US, not working, I only work in the UK. I am out here in my house in Vegas, but I wanted to make a contribution here.

I will be here for a while so I won't be able to attend any meetings, but I do think it's time we had an AIM of our own. An organisation dedicated to the health needs of our industry. We need PCR DNA tests and a system of verifying tests to avoid unscrupulous people having fraudulent tests.

I think for all that has been said about the UK being a cottage industry and not being as up to date as the US. We are also less rapacious. I don't think there are many people in the UK industry who would go to a high risk place like Brazil and work without condoms.

I think it is unrealistic to expect the whole business to go condom only. We trade in fantasy and the use of condoms breaks the fourth wall of that fantasy. We can, however, take care of each other and be responsible.
