Just trying to work out how to post an image straight into a message on here rather than posting a link to Dropbox etc - forum members seem to distrust clickable links, and I appreciate people periodically spam on here.
I looked at the FAQ (see below) - but it seems well out of date, and I'm also not sure whether any of the sites listed there are OK with open eg nude shots etc.
Any help gratefully received!
Thanks
Paul

Re: Posting images directly on here
AFAIK nothing has changed so you have to upload the file elsewhere and link to it as shown by FAQ 3.3.
The same applies on a lot of forums.
Look on VEF etc to see which filehosts are currently popular. Imagebam is one.
Do a test first in case the site is blocked by BGAFD.
Beware of link shortening sites as some e.g. t i n y u r l are blocked too while z i p p y share is blocked to the UK.

Ah OK - thanks for taking the trouble to reply.
So not much point in my joining another hosting site - I've already posted Dropbox links on my previous post. Perhaps it's just that very few collectors use this forum any more to find new content to buy.

Post a drop box example link here, and I'll see if there's a way that I can do it... If I can, I shall explain how I did it. I need to get access to an example dropbox image to try it

if you can see a picture above, then its easily doable - I took the link from one of your old posts. If you cant see it, let me know, cause that means I see it because its in my browser cache...

Re: Posting images directly on here
OK, So first thing I did was to find one of your dropbox links in an old post. I found it and it took me here, to the three pics...

I chose the first image, and clicked on it. That opened up the image like this below. I then RIGHT clicked on the image and chose 'Open Image In New Tab'

It opened the image in the new tab like this...

What I actually want is that long link in my browser bar. So I RIGHT clicked on it, and chose copy. Like this.

Well that's pretty much all I needed to do. I came back to bgafd and in the post box I clicked the little button in the middle - the insert image button. Its got like a little sun above the mountains on it - Right next to the blue insert link button...

This box then appears at the top of the screen...

Just right click on it and choose 'Paste'

Then back in your 'post box' you'll find something that looks like this...

And that's it... Hit post and your image shows up
That's all there is to it really - Just open image in new tab, copy the URL, hit insert image and paste it into the box. You'll notice I'm on a mac, but it will work exactly the same from a PC

Snow Patrol, you're a star. Thank you so much! Have now inserted the pics into my original post.
Re: Posting images directly on here
My only comments with Dropbox are
- what are their rules on content ?
- how traceable back to you is Dropbox ? Is the linked email anonymous ?
- how secure/hackable is it - this doesn't matter if not used for any other purpose
