UK , Advertising, Showing LOTS of duo as female couples !!

Is the advertising in the UK on the television channels focusing , or being "Trendy " with the couples as females , not Male & female, not Male and male , seems the mixed colour is still being used .
Though its not until after the advertisement has run its Plus & Sell that is dawns that it was aimed with Two Females , on holiday, or buying a house , or car ...

Is this true reflections of the UK , or is it acceptable but a public outcry if the same advertisement was used using two male actors ?

It is easier and acceptable to get the message across using two dolly actresses.

Cant say Ive noticed this myself, but I often fast forward thru ads anyway. Got any specific examples I can keep an eye out for?
