To be fair to Giles, I emailed him when he originally posted his offer, and he emailed me right back with the zipfile containing a folder holding all the HTML web pages, which I guess he took from his favourites folder.

The file doesnt contain just a list of handtyped urls, and it would take him ages to sit down and type them all in to post on the forum.

I certainly didnt get any attitude off the guy, and he definately shared his goodies.
Just had to ask.

I offered to share what I had. I wanted to keep preverts (probably you) from getting hold of the list. I distribute it in my own time and don't make money from it. What's your problem with that?

This isn't my argument, so I probably ought not get involved, BUT....

The fact is that I imagine all of the websites you have listed are already public domain... that being the case, a determined pervert; or one with an excess of time on his hands; could no doubt track these sites down anyway...

It is also a fact that there are countless lists of links already out there on the web - what makes yours so special...?

On top of that, I think most agencies and most models ACCEPT and ACKNOWLEDGE that a good percentage of the hits on their sites are going to come from people who have no intention of making bookings.... The whole point of a website is to gain exposure and promotion - why be so secretive? Are you not doing the people who own these sites, these agencies and these models a favour by promoting them openly???

That's right, it's all public domain. I didn't say my list was special, it was something I got together when I was casting and thought others would like to use, to save their time and in the genuine pursuit of models. People who want to trawl model forums for their own reasons can get on the net and start looking, I mean that's meant to be the appeal isn't it? I didn't expect people to get venomous because I offered to share information with them, pathetic really.

It's a case of human nature Giles... don't get upset about it, don't feel demoralised or disillusioned by it.. if your offer was well intentioned - well, it is indeed a shame that people have reacted in the manner that they have... But that is human nature - those who their heads up from outta the fox-holes have got to be prepared to be shot at... - and that is what has happened here Giles... some people may read your post along the lines of "I know more than the next guy" - they'll look at you as the schoolboy "know all", and you really do have to accept that this medium is fraught with problems as regards the real sentiments intended....

In face to face communication there are many signams you can pick up on to determine real intention (facial expression, body language, tone of voice etc, etc); with vocal communication there is tone of voice, speed of delivery, volume etc, etc; with written comms there is handwriting; and with a message board posting there is unfortunately little - the scope for misinterpretation is massive...

So don't be disheartened Giles - if your intentions were well meant, then be self-satisfied that you tried to help people... Unfortunately it is the nature of the beast!

That short post could have been far better worded.. And as I and others have posted, I doubt that you have anything special that we in the business don't know about.

Next quote " try to keep the perverts and timewasters away".. If someone wants information for a perverted reason they'll find it out. Many years ago Sally Thomset the actress had a boyfriend who started to stalk her.. She changed her phone number more times than you've had a hot meal.. The guy bribed BT staff to get him her ex directory number every time she changed it.. This ended up in court and was very well publicised. This story was true as I know Sally and the ex boyfriend very well so your argument goes in the bin..

But.. If your list has the private phone numbers of models then.. I give in to you and agree that this information should be guarded but you haven't stated this yet I have an on line model site and anyone who wants to hire a model must fill in the full name address and a phone number on the enquiry form before I pass it on to the models.. If this info isn't there, I reply politely asking for it. Protection of girls who are in the adult business is of prime importance as far as I'm concerened.

Sorry Joe, I asked people to mail me direct so that the bgafd board wouldn't get clogged up with replies, bit of consideration for the webmasters and other users in operation there on my part. Hope that it explains the obvious for you.

My argument does not 'go in the bin' as you arrogantly put it. If I want to share information with other people I'll try to do it in a responsible fashion to professional and amateur photographers and videographers only. If people want to trawl the internet looking for model forums then they are free to do it.

I think your post was very rude. Why don't you share your contacts if you're so keen on discussing it here? Plain obnoxious and somewhat paranoid was the tone of your post without a doubt. What IS your SAD PROBLEM???
