I have some legitimate friends (Yea, believe it) who are trying to find the right people to back it. If this can be done, then I will pass the whole thing over to Wendy(she don;t know this yet) because she is one hell of an organiser and any kudos forthecoming should go to her anway. Who else could have done what she has?

But like I say, it is all in the pipeline, but NOT forgotten or discounted.

Well... That all sounds promising Marcus, I guess it's a waiting game then... But as I said - if we really want to be taken seriously then I genuinely believe that the only way to get backers is to approach them with some semblance of a genuine, justifiable organised outfit.... Friends, colleagues and aquanitances are one thing - but people outta the loop (if ya like) need to be approached differently.

I think there is considerable groundwork and planning that should be done in order to show possible financial backers just what they are buying into;

i.e. - a genuine committee, a written "consitution" and a broad, detailed yet flexible plan and timetable...

And I still think that we should still proceed even if backers aren't forthcoming... I'd rather the set-up was born modestly and amateurish as opposed to not born at all.... Yes - let's aim high, but lets resolve to make it happen regardless of it's size!

It is the only way we can demonstrate that we believe in the industry, have pride in the industry - and what's more - what better way to stand up and be counted than to stand up and be counted and laugh in the face of humility... we all know that sooner or later porn WILL gain social acceptance - Porn and commercial sex is BIG, BIG BUSINESS... I aint in the business (more's the pity), but Iit is clearly a vibrant, exciting business.... LET'S RESOLVE TO ENBSURE THIS HAPPENS!

The only problem - unless the votes are cast by "registered" names would be the ability for people to cast multiple votes... even the use of a "cookies" wouldn't be secure enough... but I don't know all the technical tricks of the trade - maybe there are secure ways of casting just one unique anonymous vote?

There are problems with IP tracking... Firstly, only broadband users have a "Fixed" IP. And even then, there are methods to hide your IP - although undoubtedly, the autorities will always, sooner or later, trace it.

Secondly - and a lot of people don't realise this, dial-up users do NOT have a fixed IP. Each ISP has a wealth of IP's - each time you connect you are allocated one of their IPs. Disconnect and then re-connect and you'll most likely get a completely different one... The way the authorities trace the IP to the user is by contacting the ISP with the time the IP was noted, the ISP then establishes who was allocated the IP at that time...

So although IP tracking is a valuable tool for monitoring cheating with broadband users who don't attempt to disguise their IP - for all others, it is a rather feeble exercise....

I think the show should be presented by well known names in British Erotica (Actor/actress/Director/Producer)
Also Like Phil McC said The Plus Show would be ideal or maybe The erotica Show in London providing they are OK with that. Perhaps you can get the companys at the events to sponser the award ceromony, What about TV Coverage....For example..TVX, The Adult Channel, Men & Motors, Playboy TV, Bravo, Channel 5 etc...etc.. I'm sure one of them would be interested in recording the event so it can be broadcasted in a TV Special. (Just a thought!!) Perhaps these TV stations could also provide a good sponser & it could give the event more exposure through the years.Or If no TV interest then Perhaps this event could be recorded and sold as A VHS/DVD??
As a fan I would be happy to cast my vote for best - Movies/Performers on any website providing there was no vote rigging.
Where do I vote? When does the voting start & whats the final date to vote. Like the AVN awards the video's/performers can be voted for, example titles released in 2002 would be voted for in 2003.2003 to be voted in 2004 so on.....
With all the fans on this website I'm sure we can get loads of votes.
All though we have many favorite stars perhaps we can split them in 2 catogories like best actor/actress of the year & best perforamnce in a video by an actor or actress, in that way we can have a wider choice of people we could vote for.
